WILLIAMSBURG, Va.— The William & Mary men's golf team is back in action, heading to the Georgetown Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday.
The 54-hole event will take place at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, N.J. with 36 holes on Monday and the final round on Tuesday.
TRIBE NOTES
Last Time Out
The Tribe posted the fourth lowest team total in program history in its last event, shooting 10-under at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational hosted by West Virginia. W&M found red figures in all three rounds at Nemacolin Resort's Mystic Rock course with efforts of 287-286-281.
Talon Dingledine landed his third top 10 finish in his third collegiate start. The freshman paced the Tribe at 6-under, good for T-6. Fellow freshman
Eli Felty also finished under-par for the event with scores of 74-72-68. All five members of the W&M lineup shot at least one round of 72-or-better at the event.
Not Bad Rook
Talon Dingledine is off to torrid pace to begin his college career and was recognized as the CAA Golfer of the Week for his efforts at Nemacolin. The Chesterfield, Va. native has not only posted three straight top 10 finishes to start the year but has shot par-or-better in seven of the nine rounds this season.
Team Effort
The Tribe's strong team start this season can be summed up by contributions up and down the lineup. W&M saw all five starters shoot one score of 73-or-better at The Goat leading into the performance at the Nemacolin Intercollegiate Invitational, where all five players shot even-par or better.
