TRIBE NOTES

•
The Matchup
William & Mary comes off their first bye of the CAA season on Friday to visit Northeastern in Boston on Sunday afternoon. The matchup is the first of two meetings between the teams this season. The Tribe will be looking to end a five-game losing streak in Boston. The two teams didn't play last year because of a Husky forfeit.

• The Opponent
Northeastern enters the third weekend of CAA play at 0-3 and 1-11 overall. After a bye last Friday, the Huskies dropped a narrow home contest to UNCW, 51-48 on Sunday. They will visit Towson on Friday before hosting the Tribe. NE has yet to score more than 55 points in CAA action.

• Last Time Out
Bella Nascimento and Cassidy Geddes guided the Tribe to their best offensive game of the season behind career-highs of 27 and 26 respectively in an 83-74 win at Monmouth. The 83 points were a season-high by 12 for W&M.

• One-Two Punch
Bella Nascimento and Cassidy Geddes were quite the one-two punch for W&M last time out at Monmouth. The duo each posted career-highs scoring 27 and 26 points respectively. The effort marked the first time Tribe teammates had 25-plus in the same game since Victoria Reynolds and Eva Hodgson had 26 and 25 in the CAA opener at Towson in 2020.

• Cass in the Clutch
After Bella Nascimento carried the offensive load early for the Tribe against Monmouth, Cassidy Geddes took over for W&M down the stretch. The sophomore guard scored 15 of her career-high 26 in the fourth quarter, including a 3-pointer with 8:19 to play that gave the Tribe the lead for good.

• Ballin' Bella
Bella Nascimento continued her consistent start to the season, posting a new career-high for the second straight Sunday with 27 at Monmouth. Nascimento ignited the Tribe offense early, scoring 21 of her 27 in the first three quarters. The senior guard has posted double figures in 12 of 15 games this year with four 20-plus point performances. She ranks eighth in the CAA in scoring at 14.3 per game.

• Rolph Heating Up
An underlying storyline for the Tribe since mid-December has been the emergence of Kayla Rolph. The junior reached double figures for the fourth time in six games with 10 at Monmouth. Rolph is averaging 13 points per game over that span after averaging just 2.1 ppg in the first nine games.

• Been a Minute
The 83 points for the Tribe in West Long Branch last Sunday was the program's best offensive performance in over a year. The last time W&M broke the 80-point mark was 12/17/23 in a 86-49 win over Longwood. The last time the Tribe scored over 80 in a CAA game was 2/10/23 at Elon.

• Knocking Down the Free Ones
The 14-for-16 mark from the line at Monmouth is the Tribe's best performance from the charity stripe this season. W&M was also clutch from the line to salt the game away, going 12-of-13 in the fourth quarter.

• Injury Bug
After a year in which injuries were few and far between for the Tribe, the injury bug has caught up with them through 15 games in 2024-25. The Tribe has had five different players miss time with injury this year for a total of 19 games. Natalie Fox (7), Kayla Beckwith (5), Alexa Mikeska (3), Rebekah Frisby-Smith (2) and Anahi Cauley (2) is the group who makes up those absences.

• Spreading the Wealth
Four different players scored in double figures for the Tribe on Sunday, Nascimento (27), Geddes (26), Cauley (12) and Rolph (10), the first time that has happened this season. The last time the Tribe had four players score 10 or more was 365 days from Sunday, 1/19/24, against Delaware.

• Finishing at the Rim
The Tribe can attribute much of their solid offensive outing at Monmouth to their finishing inside. The Tribe finished the day 16-of-24 "at the rim" according to barttorvik.com analytics. The 66% mark is their best at the rim this year.

• Sharing the Rock
61.1% of the Tribe's baskets this year has been assisted, the second highest rate in the CAA and 57th in the nation. Drexel is the only CAA team with a higher percentage of assists at 71.3%, second best in the nation.

• All Good Streaks Come to an End
The overtime loss to Elon on Sunday was the Tribe's first-ever extra session loss under Erin Dickerson Davis. W&M was victorious in five straight OT games prior to Sunday including four during Davis' first season in 2022-23. The Tribe picked up a win in their only overtime game last year vs. Delaware.

• Newfound Height
The Tribe adds six new players to the roster in 2024-25, four freshmen and two transfers. Five of the six newcomers are over 6-feet tall. The average height of the six new players is slightly over 6'1, while the average height of the eight returners is 5'9.

• Speaking of Height...
Freshman Natalie Fox is the Tribe's tallest newcomer, as well as tallest player, this season at 6-foot-4. She is the tallest player W&M has had since Abby Rendle, also at 6-foot-4, who graduated in 2018.

• Coach E Extended
W&M Director of Athletics, Brian Mann, announced in late August that head coach Erin Dickerson Davis had agreed to a contract extension through 2029. Through two seasons Davis became the fastest coach to 20 CAA wins in program history and fastest to 30 career wins in 95 years.

• 60 is the Magic Number
60 points is a key number for W&M. The Tribe is 20-6 under Erin Dickerson Davis when holding teams below 60. While team's have had a mixed bag of success scoring in the 60s vs. W&M, opponents are 32-5 against them when scoring 70+ since 2020-21. Offensively, the Tribe is 35-13 when scoring over 60 and 3-23 when held below 60 under Davis.
