TRIBE NOTES

• The Matchup
William & Mary hits the road again after a three-game homestand to take on Delaware on Friday night at 7 p.m. The game will tip at 7 p.m. and be broadcast on FloHoops. W&M will look to sweep the Hens in the regular season.

• The Opponent
Delaware enters their second matchup of the season with the Tribe at 4-5 in the CAA and 8-13 overall. The Hens have won two of their last three, beating Towson and Hofstra and losing to Delaware. They are third in the league in scoring and fourth in FG%.

• Last Time Out
William & Mary posted their second-best shooting performance of the year, 51.7%, on the way to a 75-62 win over Drexel in W&M's Gold Rush game on Sunday. Nylah Young posted her sixth game of 20+ this year, leading three players in double figures with 27.

•Halfway Home
Officially at the halfway mark of the CAA season, W&M sits in a tie for third with Charleston and Monmouth at 6-3. N.C. A&T and Stony Brook sit tied at the top of the standings at 8-1. The top four teams at regular season's end will receive a double bye in the CAA Championship. Last year W&M finished 12-6, tying the most conference wins in program history, at the halfway point a year ago the Tribe was 5-4.

•Fresh Five
Erin Dickerson Davis rolled out her seventh different starting five and fourth different group in CAA play vs. Drexel. Only Cassidy Geddes and Alexa Mikeska have started the last six games for the Tribe. W&M relied heavily on their bench Sunday vs. Drexel, however, with 42 of the Tribe's 75 points coming from the bench. Nylah Young scored 27 for the Tribe coming off the bench for the third time in a row after starting the first 17 games of the year.

• Top-10 Efforts
Three different William & Mary players currently rank in the top-10 in six different statistical categories. Nylah Young ranks first in FT% (90.7), fourth in FG% (41.5), fifth in FTM (78) and seventh in points per game (14.4). Bella Nascimento sits 10th in 3PM/game (1.85), and Cassidy Geddes seventh in steals per game (1.7) halfway through CAA play. Young currently ranks 11th in the nation in FT% as well.

• Trying to Get Over the Hump
Sunday's win over Drexel put W&M at 10-10 and .500 on the season for the third time this year. The previous two times the Tribe has gotten to an even record the subsequent game has resulted in loss, meaning a win Friday will put W&M above .500 for the first time all year.

•Analytically Speaking
William & Mary currently sits third in the CAA in assists per game but are tops in the league and 46th in the nation in assist percentage according to the Warren Nolan analytics site. 61.7% of the Tribe's baskets have been assisted this year. W&M is also one of five teams in the CAA in the top-75 in the country in defensive rating, clocking in at 73rd.

• Hot Shots
The Tribe posted their second-best shooting performance of the season against Drexel on Sunday, going 30-of-58 from the floor for 51.7%. W&M went 9-for-14 in both the third and fourth quarter to salt away the victory. The only superior performance this year was against Longwood when they shot 52.3%. Sunday marked just the fourth time the Tribe has shot above 50% in Erin Dickerson Davis' two seasons.

• Holding 'em to Less Than 10
The Tribe held Monmouth to eight points in the second quarter on 1/28. That was the fifth time in conference play this year that W&M has held an opponent to less than 10 points in a frame.

• Competing on the Glass
Although the Tribe are not a statistically dominate team on the glass, there is no doubt they have improved their efforts on the boards from a year ago. W&M has already outrebounded their opponent nine times this year compared to just four times all of last year. They have a 7-2 record when doing so this season.

• Protecting the Rock
W&M has won the turnover battle in 11 of the last 12 games and have a 9-5 record when doing so this season.

• Halftime Leads
Holding the lead at half in their last three games, W&M is 8-4 this year when leading after the first 20 minutes. The Tribe is now 20-5 under Erin Dickerson Davis when leading at the break over her first two seasons.

• 60 is the Magic Number
The Tribe has held their opponents under 60 points in seven of their nine wins this season, while opponents have scored over 60 in eight of the nine W&M losses. The Tribe is 14-3 under Erin Dickerson Davis when holding teams below 60. While team's have had a mixed bag of success scoring in the 60s vs. W&M, opponents are 25-4 against them when scoring 70+ since 2020-21.

• Formidable Opponents
William & Mary's non-conference slate was set up to be a challenging one and proved to be. The seven teams who beat the Tribe owned a combined record of 62-18 in the non-conference.
