Men's Basketball Returns Home to Face Towson on Thursday Night

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's basketball returns home for its lone game of the week, hosting Towson on Thursday night at Kaplan Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on FloHoops.

Tribe fans can catch the action on the Tribe Sports Network with Jay Colley and Bobby Dwyer on the call. Locally in Williamsburg, fans can listen in on The Tide 92.3 FM.

Parking
Parking for W&M home games is available for no additional charge on the left side of the Kaplan Arena lot, located between Brooks Street and Ukrop Way. Overflow parking is also available on campus at the W&M Parking Deck (201 Ukrop Way, Williamsburg, VA); the W&M School of Education (301 Monticello Avenue, Williamsburg, VA 23185), and the large lot across the street from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business (101 Ukrop Way, Williamsburg, VA).
 
Parking is available on Harrison Avenue (Blue Lot) or in the Gold Lot (Zable Stadium Lot), directly off of Richmond Road. Follow the black arrows for a paved, lighted path to Kaplan Arena through the Green and Gold Village (see photo) below.
 
Alternative Parking for home men's basketball games

Access to reserved parking is available to season ticket holders who reach the minimum contribution level required to the William & Mary Athletic Foundation. Clear Bag Policy
William & Mary Athletics, in conjunction with the William & Mary Police Department, has implemented a clear bag policy that regulates the size and type of bag that may be carried into W&M Athletics facilities during the 2023-24 year, including Busch Field, Kaplan Arena, Martin Family Stadium, Plumeri Park, and Zable Stadium. Information as well as approved and prohibited items is available at TribeAtheltics.com.

W&M News and Notes
 
- Thursday is the first meeting only meeting between W&M and Towson this season. With its win over the Tigers in Kaplan last season, the Tribe has won seven of the last 11 meetings between the teams.
 
- Sophomore Chase Lowe is averaging 14.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and three assists per game in CAA play. He is one of 37 players nationally, as of Feb. 13, to average 13 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Lowe has a pair of double-doubles in CAA play and four on the season. Overall, he is the only player in the CAA to rank among the top 15 in scoring, rebounding, and assists.
 
- Sophomore Trey Moss has led the Tribe in scoring in each of the last two games, averaging 19 per contest last week. He has a team-leading five 20-point games this season. Moss has scored in double figures in 19 of the Tribe's 25 games and ranks 14th in the CAA at 13.3 points per game. Earlier this season, he had a career-high 22 points against Drexel on Jan. 6.
 
- Junior Gabe Dorsey became just the fifth Tribe player in school history with 80 or more 3-pointers in a season. His 84 3-pointers this season rank sixth nationally and are in seventh place on the Tribe's single-season 3-pointers made list. Over his two seasons at W&M, he has 160 3-pointers which ranks 12th on the Tribe's career list, just one behind current Tribe assistant coach Julian Boatner.
 
- The Tribe has connected on double-digit 3-pointers in 10 games this season. The Green and Gold ranks 24th nationally in 3-pointers attempted (27.2) and 47th in 3-pointers made per game (8.8). In total, 47.3% of the Tribe's field goal attempts come from 3-point range and 37.2% of its scoring comes on 3-point field goals. Those numbers rank 15th and 29th nationally, according to KenPom.com.
 
- Freshman Tai Hamilton has provided the Tribe with a presence in the paint in CAA play. Over the last seven games, he is averaging two blocked shots per game. Hamilton posted a career-high three blocked shots at both N.C. A&T (Jan. 20) and at Delaware (Feb. 10). Overall, he ranks 11th in the CAA at nearly a block per game, but has been even better in CAA play at 1.4 per contest, which is sixth in the league.
 
- The Tribe pulled down 19 offensive rebounds at Monmouth on Feb. 8. The total is the most in a CAA game this season and the most for the Tribe since it had 25 vs. Goucher in 2019. The last time W&M had more offensive rebounds in a Division I game came in the 2010 regular-season finale when it had 21 vs. Towson.
 
- W&M is using the free throw line to its advantage this season. The Tribe ranks second in the league at 14.4 free throws made per game and is fifth in the CAA in free throw % (.718).
 
- Lowe is one of the best in the country at getting to the free throw line. According to KenPom.com, he is 12th nationally in free throw rate (78.1) and 26th in the country in drawing fouls at 6.8 per 40 minutes. Lowe has made 109 free throws on the season, which ranks fourth in the CAA and 51st nationally.
 
- Junior Caleb Dorsey ranks 10th in the CAA with four double-doubles on the year. He owns two in CAA play, finishing with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds at Hampton (Jan. 11) and adding 14 points and 12 rebounds vs. Stony Brook (Jan. 13). The junior forward ranks 15th in the CAA in rebounding (5.9).
 
- Gabe Dorsey continues to be one of the top shooters in the country. After ranking fourth in the country in 3-point % last season, he is currently seventh in 3-pointers per game (3.4), as of Feb. 13. Dorsey is shooting 38.7%  from distance this season, which ranks second in the CAA and 52nd nationally.
 
- 2020 graduate Nathan Knight, who was the National Mid-Major Player of the Year in 2020, signed an NBA 2-way deal with the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics prior to the start of the season and is currently with the Motor City Cruise in the NBA G-League. He has played three years in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks. Knight is the third W&M player, joining Marcus Thornton (Cleveland Cavaliers 10-day contract in 2018) and Daniel Dixon (Boston Celtics preseason Exhibit 10 deal in 2017) to sign an NBA deal since 2017.
 
- Along with Knight in the NBA G-League, seven other former Tribe standouts are playing professionally in overseas - Anders Nelson (Starwings in Switzerland), Andy Van Vliet (Trefl Sopot in Poland), Justin Pierce (Veertien Mie in Japan), David Cohn (VfL SparkassenStars Bochum in Germany), Omar Prewitt (Tofas Bursa in Turkey), Marcus Thornton (Lavrio in Greece), and Terry Tarpey (AS Monaco in France).
 
- A trio of former W&M players are currently on coaching staffs in the NBA and NBA G-League. Jim Moran '01 is the head coach of the Rip City Remix, which is the G-League affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers. Sean Sheldon '16 is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Utah Jazz. Daniel Dixon '17 is an assistant coach with the Oklahoma City Blue, the NBA G-League program of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
