TRIBE NOTES

• The Matchup
William & Mary completes a weekend of road games, taking on 757 foe Hampton at 2 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday. The first of two meetings between the teams, the game will be broadcast on FloHoops with a live audio broadcast on the Tribe Sports Network.

• The Opponent
At 2-18, both of the Pirates wins have come in conference play, beating both Hofstra and UNCW. Hampton ranks second in the CAA in both blocks and steals per game and are led by Camryn Hill's 15.7 points per game.

• Last Time Out
Cassidy Geddes posted 20 points for the second time this year against Delaware to help the Tribe sweep the regular season series with Blue Hens, 62-58 in Newark on Friday. Nylah Young scored 14 of her 16 in the first half to get W&M started. 15 of Geddes' 20 came in the second half. Anahi Cauley scored 10 with a career high five assists and seven rebounds.

•An Excellent Start for E
Coach Erin Dickerson Davis is one victory away from history heading into Sunday's game. A win over the Pirates would be her 30th win in her first 53 games at W&M and 20th CAA win in 29 tries. She would be the fastest W&M coach to 20 conference wins in program history and the fastest to 30 overall wins since 1929. Marth Barksdale reached 30 in her first 35 games in the 1920s.

• More History in the Making
With the win on Friday at Delaware, W&M tied the best conference start in program history, and in 30 years, by getting to 7-3. A win over Hampton on Sunday would be the best league start through 11 games in program history for the Green and Gold. The squad also has their eyes set on the program record for conference wins after tying it last year with 12.

•Fresh Five
Erin Dickerson Davis rolled out her eighth different starting five and fifth different group in CAA play vs. Drexel. Only Cassidy Geddes and Alexa Mikeska have started the last seven games for the Tribe. W&M relied heavily on their bench last Sunday vs. Drexel, however, with 42 of the Tribe's 75 points coming from the bench. Nylah Young scored 27 for the Tribe coming off the bench for the third time in a row after starting the first 17 games of the year. She returned to the starting lineup on Friday.

• Top-10 Efforts
Three different William & Mary players currently rank in the top-10 in six different statistical categories. Nylah Young ranks first in FT% (90.9), third in FG% (42.6), fifth in FTM (80) and eighth in points per game (14.5). Bella Nascimento sits 10th in 3PM/game (1.81), and Cassidy Geddes eighth in steals per game (1.7) halfway through CAA play. Young currently ranks ninth in the nation in FT% as well.

• Taking the Show on the Road
After playing three straight at home, the Tribe are in the midst of a stretch where they will play five of seven games away from Kaplan Arena. W&M has been comfortable on the road this season though, going 7-4 away from home this year and 4-1 in such games in CAA play.

•Analytically Speaking
William & Mary currently sits third in the CAA in assists per game but are tops in the league and 44th in the nation in assist percentage according to the Warren Nolan analytics site. 62% of the Tribe's baskets have been assisted this year. W&M is also one of five teams in the CAA in the top-70 in the country in defensive rating, clocking in at 66th.

• Hot Shots
The Tribe posted their second-best shooting performance of the season against Drexel on Sunday, going 30-of-58 from the floor for 51.7%. W&M went 9-for-14 in both the third and fourth quarter to salt away the victory. The only superior performance this year was against Longwood when they shot 52.3%. Sunday marked just the fourth time the Tribe has shot above 50% in Erin Dickerson Davis' two seasons.

• Competing on the Glass
Although the Tribe are not a statistically dominate team on the glass, there is no doubt they have improved their efforts on the boards from a year ago. W&M has already outrebounded their opponent 10 times this year compared to just four times all of last year. They have a 8-2 record when doing so this season.

• Protecting the Rock
W&M has won the turnover battle in 11 of the last 13 games and have a 9-5 record when doing so this season.

• Halftime Leads
Holding the lead at half in their last three games, W&M is 8-4 this year when leading after the first 20 minutes. The Tribe is now 20-5 under Erin Dickerson Davis when leading at the break over her first two seasons.

• 60 is the Magic Number
The Tribe has held their opponents under 60 points in eight of their 11 wins this season, while opponents have scored over 60 in eight of the nine W&M losses. The Tribe is 15-3 under Erin Dickerson Davis when holding teams below 60. While team's have had a mixed bag of success scoring in the 60s vs. W&M, opponents are 25-4 against them when scoring 70+ since 2020-21.
