TRIBE NOTES

Last Time Out
The Tribe dropped a 1-0 contest to Delaware on Sunday afternoon to fall to 7-5-0, 2-2-0 CAA. The Blue Hens struck in the 17th minute and were able to hold of a W&M comeback attempt. W&M ended up outshooting Delaware 13-4, and had seven shots on goal, but all seven were saved.

Shooters Shoot
The Tribe has done a great job of maximizing their chances while limiting shots for the opposition through the first 12 matches of the season. The Tribe holds a 172-100 shot advantage over their opponents this season, including a whopping 86-38 advantage in shots on goal.

Top of the Class
Since her arrival at W&M, Ivey Crain has been one of the best forwards in the CAA. Her junior season has yielded similar results as she currently leads the conference in game-winning goals (3), shots per game (4.42) and shots on goal per game (2.08).

Locking it Down
Jazzy Lorenz and the Tribe defense have had an effective start to the season with six of W&M's seven wins this season being of the clean sheet variety. The six shutouts in 12 games places the Green and Gold second in the CAA in shutout percentage (50%).

 A Rare Lull
The Tribe enters the Sunday matchup with the Cougars after losing back-to-back games while also being shutout in both contests. Speaking to how rare a cold patch has been for the Tribe offense, it is the first time since September 2022 that W&M has been shutout in consecutive games.

Standings Update
Heading into Sunday's action the Tribe sits on the outside looking in on the postseason by just one point. The top six teams in the CAA will advance to the conference tournament. Currently the last spots are occupied by Stony Brook, Hofstra and UNCW at seven points. Campbell and the Tribe both sit just one point behind at 2-2-0. It is worth noting that UNCW has played one more match than the rest of the clubs fighting for playoff positioning.

Scouting the Cougars
After a very strong non-conference season, Charleston has hit a rough patch in the first parts of CAA play. The Cougars come to Williamsburg 0-2-2 in conference action after a 7-1-1 performance out of conference. After losses to Hofstra and Stony Brook to open CAA action, the Cougars earned draws against UNCW and Northeastern at home in their latest two matches. Charleston has only scored two goals in its first four conference games after averaging 3.0 goals per game in non-conference.

History With the Cougars
The Tribe has rarely found themselves on the losing side against the Cougars since they joined the CAA in 2013. There have been a fair number of draws in the series however, with W&M holding a 5-1-5 record in the 11 meetings between the two. Charleston's only win came at home in 2018. The last two meetings have ended in ties.
