NORFOLK, Va. – William & Mary sophomore
Oliver Hague highlighted the Tribe's effort on day two of the ITA Atlantic Region Championships at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
Hague rallied for a three-set win in the opening round of the main singles draw to advance to the round of 32 on Saturday. After dropping the opening set to Longwood's Juan Maurici Gonzalez Paiva in narrow 7-5 fashion, the Tribe sophomore responded with a tiebreaker win, 7-6 (2), in the second, before pulling out the victory behind a 6-2 third set triumph. The tournament's No. 9-16 seed won his third match of the fall and will meet Virginia Tech's Patrik Jurina in the second round at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
In doubles, two Tribe teams advanced to the second round on Friday. Senior
Alexander Karman and sophomore
Nikita Bortnichek rolled to an 8-0 win over Hampton's Donte Armbrister and Aryan Arora, but dropped its second-round tilt with the No. 6 seed Cosme Rolland De Ravel and Adam Majchrzak of ODU.

Sean Joseph and freshman
Raz Katz advanced to the second round as well, but the No. 9-16 seed suffered an 8-5 setback to Navy's Jason Kim and Aniketh Ayinala.
Playing a consolation match on Friday, Bortnichek tallied his third win of the fall in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (3) over Morgan State's Makkijha Brown.
The ITA Atlantic Region Championships continue on Saturday with two round of singles action beginning at 9 a.m.
