- W&M travels to Hofstra for the first time since 2022 on Thursday. It is the second of three-straight road games for the Tribe. Games between the Tribe and Pride have been close over the years with 16 of the last 30 meetings, dating back to 2010, being decided by six or fewer points, including 10 games decided by a single possession.
- The Tribe connected on a season-high 27 free throws on 38 attempts at N.C. A&T on Jan. 20. It marked W&M's most made and attempted free throws in a CAA game since going 31-of-39 against Elon in 2020. According to KenPom.com, the Tribe ranks 72nd nationally and second in the CAA in free throw rate (37.6). W&M averages 15.4 made free throws per game, which ranks second in the CAA and 94th nationally.
- Sophomore
Chase Lowe has been a stat-stuffer for the Tribe this season. He is one of 51 players nationally, as of Jan. 23, to average 12 points, six rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Lowe has been even better in CAA play, averaging 14.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and three assists per game, all of which rank among the top 13 in the league. Overall, he is one of just three players in the CAA to rank among the top 20 in scoring, rebounding and assists. Lowe scored a career-high 25 points at N.C. A&T on Saturday.
- The Tribe knocked down double-digit 3-pointers in two of its last three games. W&M has seven contests of 10 or more triples this season. The Green and Gold ranks 24th nationally in 3-pointers attempted (27.2) and 50th in 3-pointers made per game (8.9). In total, 47.5% of the Tribe's field goal attempts come from 3-point range and 36.4% of its scoring comes on 3-point field goals. Those numbers rank 18th and 40th nationally, according to KenPom.com.
- Lowe is one of the best in the country at getting to the free throw line. According to KenPom.com, he is third nationally in free throw rate (92.8) and 19th in the country in drawing fouls at 7.2 per 40 minutes. Lowe has made 86 free throws on the season, which ranks fourth in the CAA and 52nd nationally.
- Sophomore
Trey Moss leads the Tribe in scoring and ranks 11th in the CAA at 13.5 points per game. He has scored in double figures in 15 of the Tribe's 19 contests, including four 20-point games. Moss scored a career-high 22 points against CAA-leader Drexel on Jan. 6.
- W&M notched back-to-back games with six or fewer turnovers against Drexel (Jan. 6) and at Hampton (Jan. 11). The Tribe's four turnovers vs. the Dragons ranked third in school history in terms of fewest turnovers in a game. On the year, W&M ranks 84th nationally in fewest turnovers per game at 11.0. In CAA play, the Tribe has been even better averaging just 9.7 turnovers per game, which ranks fourth in the league.
- Junior
Caleb Dorsey recorded a double-double in two of the last four games and ranks fifth in the CAA with four double-doubles on the year. After finishing with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds at Hampton (Jan. 11), he tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds vs. Stony Brook on Jan. 13. The junior forward also leads the team and ranks 13th in the CAA in rebounding (6.3).
- Junior
Gabe Dorsey continues to be one of the top shooters in the country. After ranking fourth in the country in 3-point % last season, he is currently 15th nationally in total 3's made (59) and 19th in 3-pointers per game (3.1), as of Jan. 23. Dorsey is shooting 38.6% from distance this season, which ranks second in the CAA and 67th nationally.
- 2020 graduate Nathan Knight, who was the National Mid-Major Player of the Year in 2020, signed an NBA 2-way deal with the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics prior to the start of the season and is currently with the Motor City Cruise in the NBA G-League. He has played three years in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks. Knight is the third W&M player, joining Marcus Thornton (Cleveland Cavaliers 10-day contract in 2018) and Daniel Dixon (Boston Celtics preseason Exhibit 10 deal in 2017) to sign an NBA deal since 2017.
- Along with Knight in the NBA G-League, seven other former Tribe standouts are playing professionally in overseas -
Anders Nelson (Starwings in Switzerland), Andy Van Vliet (Trefl Sopot in Poland), Justin Pierce (Veertien Mie in Japan), David Cohn (VfL SparkassenStars Bochum in Germany), Omar Prewitt (Tofas Bursa in Turkey), Marcus Thornton (Lavrio in Greece), and Terry Tarpey (AS Monaco in France).
- A trio of former W&M players are currently on coaching staffs in the NBA and NBA G-League. Jim Moran '01 is the head coach of the Rip City Remix, which is the G-League affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers. Sean Sheldon '16 is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Utah Jazz. Daniel Dixon '17 is an assistant coach with the Oklahoma City Blue, the NBA G-League program of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
