- The Tribe and Camels meet for the first time as conference opponents on Thursday and the first time in general since 2005. W&M leads the all-time series at 6-2, including a 4-0 mark in Williamsburg. The last time the teams met, W&M topped the Camels, 93-79, in Kaplan Arena.
- W&M has improved defensively to start CAA play, allowing just 67.8 points per game (compared to 74 during the non-conference slate), which ranks sixth in the league. Over its last two games, the Tribe has turned in two of its three best defensive efforts vs. D1 foes, limiting both Hampton (0.95) and Stony Brook (0.93) to less than a point per possession (PPP). W&M is limiting CAA opponents to just 1.04 PPP after allowing 1.16 against D1 opponent in non-conference play. The Tribe is also holding foes 5.8 3-pointers per game in CAA play, down from 8.2 during the non-conference schedule.
- The Tribe knocked double 10 3-pointers against Stony Brook on Saturday, marking the sixth time it hit double-digit triples in a game. W&M ranks 24th nationally in 3-pointers attempted (27.5) and 40th in 3-pointers made per game (9.2). In total, 47.8% of the Tribe's field goal attempts come from 3-point range and 37% of its scoring comes on 3-point field goals. Those numbers rank 12th and 32nd nationally, according to KenPom.com.
- In each of the last two games, junior
Caleb Dorsey recorded double-doubles and he has four in the last nine contests. After finishing with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds at Hampton, he tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds vs. Stony Brook on Saturday. The last Tribe player with three-straight double-doubles was Nathan Knight '20 in 2019-20. Over the last nine games, Dorsey is averaging 11.7 points and eight rebounds per contest. He ranks fourth in the CAA and 84th nationally in double-doubles. The junior forward also leads the team and ranks seventh in the CAA in rebounding (6.7).
- Sophomore
Chase Lowe is one of three players in the CAA to rank among the top 20 in scoring, assists and rebounding. He ranks 16th in the CAA in rebounding (6.0), 18th in assists (2.6), and 20th in scoring (11.9). Lowe has been even better in CAA play, averaging 12 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
- Lowe is one of the best in the country at getting to the free throw line. According to KenPom.com, he is sixth nationally in free throw rate (87.0) and 28th in the country in drawing fouls at 6.8 per 40 minutes. Lowe has made 71 free throws on the season, which ranks fifth in the CAA and 77th nationally.
- Recently, the Tribe notched back-to-back games of single-digit turnovers with four against Drexel on Jan. 6, which ranked third in school history in terms of fewest turnovers in a game, and six at Hampton. On the year, W&M ranks 68th nationally in fewest turnovers per game at 10.9. In CAA play, the Tribe has been even better averaging just 8.5 turnovers per game, which ranks second in the league.

Gabe Dorsey continues to be one of the top shooters in the country. After ranking fourth in the country in 3-point % last season, he is currently 11th nationally in total 3's made (55) and 12th in 3-pointers per game (3.2), as of Jan. 16. Dorsey is shooting 40.1% from distance this season, which leads the CAA and 50th nationally.
- Sophomore
Trey Moss scored a career-high 22 points against Drexel on Jan. 6. It was his fourth 20-point game of the season, the most among Tribe players. He has scored in double figures on 13 of the Tribe's 17 games and ranks 12th in the CAA at 13.4 points per game.
- 2020 graduate Nathan Knight, who was the National Mid-Major Player of the Year in 2020, signed an NBA 2-way deal with the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics prior to the start of the season and is currently with the Motor City Cruise in the NBA G-League. He has played three years in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks. Knight is the third W&M player, joining Marcus Thornton (Cleveland Cavaliers 10-day contract in 2018) and Daniel Dixon (Boston Celtics preseason Exhibit 10 deal in 2017) to sign an NBA deal since 2017.

Anders Nelson (Starwings in Switzerland), Andy Van Vliet (Trefl Sopot in Poland), Justin Pierce (Veertien Mie in Japan), David Cohn (VfL SparkassenStars Bochum in Germany), Omar Prewitt (Tofas Bursa in Turkey), Marcus Thornton (Lavrio in Greece), and Terry Tarpey (AS Monaco in France).
- A trio of former W&M players are currently on coaching staffs in the NBA and NBA G-League. Jim Moran '01 is the head coach of the Rip City Remix, which is the G-League affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers. Sean Sheldon '16 is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Utah Jazz. Daniel Dixon '17 is an assistant coach with the Oklahoma City Blue, the NBA G-League program of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
