WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary lacrosse team will conclude its regular-season slate when it hosts Elon for Senior Day at Martin Family Stadium on Saturday at noon.
Following the contest, W&M will honor its five seniors –
Sarah Cipolla,
Caroline Donovan,
Claudia Hoeg,
London Simonides and
Sydney Sloan.
The Tribe remains in contention for a spot in the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament but needs a victory against Elon and losses by Delaware and Monmouth. If all three teams are tied, the final spot will be determined by goal differential in conference games.
Admission is free.
Papa John's is the game sponsor and will provide a pregame pizza party.

A Look at the Tribe
W&M enters Saturday's game with a 7-8 overall record and a 2-4 mark in conference play.
Sarah Cipolla leads the Tribe with 24 points (19g, 5a), while
Sam Van Gieson (18g, 5a) and
Justyce Barber (15g, 4a) have also come up big offensively. Cipolla's stat line also includes a team-high 59 draw controls, which ranks tied for second on W&M's single-season list.
Defensively,
Caroline Hertzberg has posted team highs in caused turnovers (15) and ground balls (31), while she ranks second on the team in draw controls (37). Goalie
Elise Palmer ranks tied for fourth in the CAA in saves per game (8.0).
Scouting Elon
Elon currently owns a 4-11 overall record and a 0-6 mark in CAA play. A number of Elon's setbacks were narrow defeats as it suffered four losses by a single goal. Cierra Hopson leads the Phoenix with 43 points (33g, 10a), while Anna Hackett (32g, 1a) has also contributed offensively. Sammy Fisher has totaled a team-high 54 draw controls to go with 29 points (23g, 6a).

Last Meeting with Elon
W&M opened its 2022 CAA slate with a 17-12 setback at Elon. W&M trailed by just three at halftime, but Elon utilized a 6-2 run to pull away.

Sam Van Gieson and

Last Time Out
W&M concluded its road slate with a 14-9 loss at Monmouth last Saturday. After an impressive 6-2 run W&M trailed by just three with 5:25 remaining, but it was unable to get any closer.

In addition to becoming W&M's career record holder for draw controls (168) this spring,
Sarah Cipolla's 59 draw controls this season ranks tied for second in the program's record book.
Caroline Hertzberg also etched her name in W&M's record book, as her 99 career draw controls ranks 10th in school history. Additionally, her 49 career caused turnovers is just three shy of moving into the program's all-time top-10 list.
Caroline Donovan is also closing in on the program's all-time top-10 list with 47 caused turnovers.
CAA Weekly Honors
Four Tribe standouts have earned weekly awards from the CAA this season, as

Maresa Moyer (Rookie of the Week, March 20),
Kate Draddy Rookie of the Week, Feb. 27) and Justyce (Player of the Week, April 3) have all garnered distinction.

Seven different W&M players have scored at least 10 goals this season, which is tied for the most in the CAA.
