WILLIAMSBURG, VA.- William & Mary's eight-game winning streak may have been snapped Sunday, but the Tribe will have an opportunity to begin a new streak welcoming in VCU Tuesday evening for the first of a four-game home stand. The Green and Gold will face the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday with coverage on flobaseball.

William & Mary is coming off a 3-1 week that featured a midweek win at Maryland, before taking two of three at Stony Brook. The series victory was the team's fourth straight and third straight in CAA play. VCU defeated VMI last Tuesday, but dropped two of three to St. Joe's over the weekend. The Tribe and Rams split a season-series last year with both games going to the road team.
Tuesday's starter
Nate Knowles has been strong this season, earning the win in his last two decisions. Knowles ranks third in the CAA with a 2.06 ERA, and leads the league in batting average against as opponents are hitting just .178 against the righty. Of the 23 hits Knowles has allowed this season, only five have gone for extra bases.
Ben Williamson returned to the lineup on Friday after a short absence and picked up where he left off. Williamson smashed a homer, a double, and five hits overall scoring five runs and knocking in five. Williamson ranks tied for 14th nationally with 52 total hits.
Williamson has been a force in every sense of the word this season, leading the CAA in batting average by 21 points, slugging by 30 points, on base percentage by 10 points, and OPS by 80 points. The infielder also is tied for the CAA lead in runs scored and triples, and is sixth in RBI and homers.
Lucas Carmichael stayed hot over the weekend, hitting .600 (6-10). Carmichael was 3-4 on Sunday and scored four runs over the weekend. The sophomore has recorded multiple hits in five of his last eight games, and ranks third on the team with 10 multi-hit games this season. Lucas' on base percentage of .522 is second only to Williamson among all CAA players.
