Baseball To Host No. 15 Campbell Tuesday Night

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - William & Mary will welcome in No. 15 Campbell for a midweek tilt Tuesday night at Plumeri Park. The Camels are the highest ranked team to come to Williamsburg since the Tribe hosted No.1 Virginia in 2014.

The Green and Gold will look to build on a 3-1 week that saw the team earn a second straight CAA series win. Campbell enters Tuesday on a seven game winning streak, going 4-0 last week.

Fans will get to see strength on strength Tuesday night as one of the nation's best offenses visits one of the NCAA's strongest pitching staffs. William & Mary ranks 15th in the nation with a 3.42 team ERA. The Tribe has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of the past seven games. Campbell has scored 256 runs through 22 runs this season, the third most of any program in the NCAA this year. The Camels scored 62 runs over four games last week.

Nate Knowles will start on the hill for the Tribe, bringing a 2.52 ERA through 25.0 innings this season. In his seven starts, Knowles has allowed just four earned runs. The sophomore is averaging better than a strikeout per game when starting and opponents are hitting below .200 against the righty.

Joe Delossantos was named the CAA Co-Player of the Week after hitting .529 (9-17) with four extra base hits last week. Delossantos scored seven runs and knocked in eight over the weekend. The center fielder had 15 total bases behind two triples, a double, and a homer. He also stole his 16th stolen base of the season (14th in the nation). Joe leads the CAA and is tied for fifth in the nation with 35 runs scored.

Not to be overshadowed, Ben Williamson had another tremendous weekend at the dish. Williamson had eight hits last weekend and scored eight times. The third baseman had a pair of triples and a double to go with his team-leading fifth homer of the year, while driving in five men. Williamson ranks tied for sixth in the NCAA with 43 hits, just two off the nation's leaders.

The Tribe has seen a few players get hot offensively of late. Williamson and Tank Yaghoubi are both riding 10 game hitting streaks, chasing Delossantos team-high mark of 17 set earlier in the year. Nick Lottchea has hit safely in eight straight games, while Lucas Carmichael has hit in six straight outings.
