WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - Fresh off a Tuesday win at George Mason, William & Mary baseball returns to CAA play hosting conference newcomer Monmouth for a three-game set beginning Friday at Plumeri Park. This weekend will mark the second time the teams have faced off. William & Mary took the lone previous contest on a neutral site in 2017.

Monmouth is coming off a midweek win over St. Joe's and enters the weekend 1-5 through two weeks of CAA action. The Tribe is 3-3 in league play after a series win at Hofstra last weekend.
William & Mary ranks 13th in the nation with a 3.23 team ERA and the staff has been even tighter in CAA play with a league ERA of .182 through six games and a handful of Tribe pitchers have been absolutely dominant in CAA action.
Carter Lovasz has tossed 7.2 innings of shutout baseball, allowing just three hits and recording eight strikeouts, while
Zach Tsakounis has also thrown 7.2 innings and allowed one run and one walk, striking out four.
Tom Mayer has allowed one run and just three hits over 6.1 innings with three strikeouts, while
Mike Weidinger has yet to allow a runner to cross during CAA action and has 10 strikeouts to just one hit over 5.0 innings.
Rojo Prarie has a pair of saves and has allowed just three base runners over 5.0 innings of work.
Offensively,
Ben Williamson ranks tied for eighth nationally with a CAA-leading 37 hits and his .440 batting average is 23rd nationally. Williamson leads the league in batting average, on base percentage, and OPS on the year. He also ranks among the CAA's top-10 in slugging, runs scored, runs batted in, and walks.
William & Mary has been keen to take advantage of free passes this season. The Tribe ranks second in the nation in men hit by a pitch with 63.
Lucas Carmichael ranks 10th having been plunked 11 times, while
Joe Delossantos has been hit eight times. The lineup has produced 128 walks, the 14th most in the NCAA this season.
