- Monday is the second meeting between W&M and Towson over the last 16 days. Despite a Tiger win earlier this season, the Tribe leads the series at 24-22, including wins in six of the last 10 meetings.
- W&M ranks second in the CAA and 48th nationally in 3-point % (36.8). The Tribe is averaging 7.4 triples made per game and knocked down nine the last time out at Elon. The Tribe's numbers this season are a substantial improvement from the last two seasons, when W&M shot just 30.1% from distance and made 6.4 per game.
- Over the last two games, sophomore guard
Tyler Rice has been an impact scorer off the bench. He is averaging 13.5 points per game and shooting 45.5% (10-of-22) from the field during that stretch. Rice scored a season-high 14 points in 23 minutes of action in the Gold Rush Game against UNCW (Feb. 4), before leading W&M with 13 points at Elon (Feb. 11).
- Graduate guard
Anders Nelson has scored 20-plus points on four occasions this season and leads the Tribe in scoring at 11.5 points per contest, which also ranks 22nd in the league. He scored a season-high 27 points vs. Stony Brook on Jan. 26 and more impressively was 8-of-8 from the field and 4-of-4 from 3. It marks the most made field goals without a miss for a Tribe player since 2004. Nelson tallied 22 points in the Tribe's setback at Towson to end the month of January.

Gabe Dorsey has established himself as one of the top shooters in the country. He ranks 11th nationally in 3-point % (44.4), 19th in 3's per game (3.04) and 25th in effective FG% (64.2). He leads the CAA in both 3-point % and triples per game. He has been even better in league play, hitting 3.3 3-pointers per game and shooting 46.5%. Dorsey's 76 3-pointers this season rank eighth in Tribe history, while his 3.04 per game is third.
- The Tribe averages 21.6 points per game off the bench this season and is outscoring its opponents in bench production (21.6-19.2). The bench scoring average, which ranks fourth in the CAA, is W&M's highest since it averaged 24.5 points per game in 2016-17. The Tribe is also outscoring its opponents in bench points for the first time since 2019-20.
- In its win over Stony Brook on Jan. 26, W&M set a program record shooting 81.3% (13-of-16) from 3-point range. The 3-point % was also the best by a Division I team this season with a minimum of 10 made 3's and the second best nationally over the last six years. The Tribe followed it up with 12 triples and a 57.1 3-point % at Towson (Jan. 28).
- Junior forward
Noah Collier recorded his seventh double-double of the season with career-highs of 22 points and 16 rebounds vs. N.C. A&T on Jan. 21. He ranks third in the CAA and 61st nationally with seven double-doubles. Collier ranks fourth in the CAA and 77th nationally at 8.2 rebounds per game. He has pulled down 10 or more rebounds in nine games this season.
- Freshman
Charlie Williams was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on Jan. 16. Williams made a huge impact off the bench in the win at UNCW, scoring a career-high 15 points to go with four rebounds. He scored 12 first-half points with the Tribe's starting front court of Collier and Wight limited to 11 total minutes due to foul trouble. Williams was 11-of-12 at the free throw line vs. UNCW.
- Nelson has been a catalyst for W&M's offense. He ranks third in the CAA in assists (4.6) and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8). His assists per game number is 77th nationally. Nelson is 18th in the country in assist rate (35.3), according to KenPom.com. Assist rate divides the number of assists by the field goals made by the player's teammates while he is on the court.
- W&M is averaging just 12.3 turnovers per game in 2022-23, which is a significant improvement from a season ago. The Green and Gold averaged 16.2 turnovers per game in 2021-22, the sixth-worst mark in the country. After not having a single game of 10 or fewer turnovers last season, W&M has 10 such games this season, including a season-low eight turnovers at Elon.
- Four former Tribe standouts are in the NBA as either a player or a coach. 2020 graduate Nathan Knight, who was the National Mid-Major Player of the Year in 2020, signed a two-year deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the offseason. He spent last season with the Timberwolves after playing his rookie season with the Atlanta Hawks. Jim Moran '01 is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Detroit Pistons, while Sean Sheldon '16 joined the Utah Jazz as an assistant coach this offseason. Daniel Dixon '17 is an assistant coach with the Oklahoma City Blue, the NBA G-League program of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Another nine former Tribe players are currently playing professionally in Europe.
