BURLINGTON, N.C. – William & Mary women's golf wrapped up an impressive performance at the Elon Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The Tribe finished as the event runner-up, posting the second-best 54-hole scoring mark in school history. Graduate student Sarah Houle highlighted the Green and Gold effort with a runner-up finish individually.
 
Houle carded her second round under par of the tournament with a 1-under 70 on Tuesday. She finished the three rounds at 1-under 212, which is the seventh-best 54-hole score in school history. Houle led the way in the tournament in par-4 scoring (-3) and total pars (44).
 
Freshman Grace Lu shot 74 (+3) on Tuesday to post the best 54-hole total for a Tribe rookie in program history on the way to a top-5 performance. She carded a 2-over 215, which also ranked as the 14th-best 54-hole score in school history. Lu led the tournament in par-5 scoring (-4). She eagled the par-5 sixth hole on Tuesday, one of only two eagles at the event.
 
As a team, the Green and Gold carded a 6-over 290 on Tuesday, which was the ninth-best round in program history. Over the three days, W&M shot 23-over 875 falling just shy of the program record set in 2015-16 at the Pinehurst Challenge.
 
Freshmen Simone Senk and Avery Thompson shot 2-over 73's on the final day of the tournament. Both players moved up five spots to earn a share of 15th overall at 224 (+11).
 
Playing as an individual, senior Cindy Zhou earned a share of 15th along with Senk and Thompson.
