WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis senior
Mila Saric heads to the NCAA Singles Championship, beginning on Monday, May 23. The University of Illinois will host the 2022 NCAA Championships at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Urbana, Ill.
Saric drew No. 32-ranked Carolyn Campana of Wake Forest in the opening round on Monday at 7 p.m. ET. Campana, who owns six nationally-ranked wins on the year, is competing in the NCAA Singles Championship for the second-straight year. The winner will face the victor between No. 3 seed Petra Hule of Florida State and Kylie Collins of Texas in the second round on Tuesday.

News and Notes
- Saric was one of 15 automatic bids to the NCAA Championship as a result of being the highest ranked player in the Colonial Athletic Association.
- She is the first Tribe selection since Elizaveta Nemchinov in 2016. It marks the 35th time a Tribe player earned a spot in the singles championship.
- On May 17, Saric was named the CAA Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. She became the fourth player in program history earn the honor on multiple occasions, joining na exclusive list that includes Lauren Nikolaus (three times), Megan Moulton-Levy (four times) and Elizaveta Nemchinov (two times).
- Saric is currently ranked No. 118 nationally. She has been in the ranking every week since March 9. Saric started the fall at No. 97 in the country and has been ranked as high as No. 81.
- She has compiled an impressive 25-5 on the year. Her season winning % of 83.3 ranks sixth in W&M history.
- For her career, Saric owns 60 singles wins. Her career singles winning % of 72.6 is third in program history.
- Saric owns a trio of wins over current nationally-ranked foes No. 59 Thasaporn Naklo of Iowa State, No. 61 Ariana Arseneault of Auburn and No. 101 Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado of VCU. Both Naklo and Diaz-Delgado both qualified for the singles championship as well.
. She owned a 15-3 ledger at No. 1 with a trio of nationally-ranked wins.
- Along with her player of the year award, Saric was named to the All-CAA First Team in singles and second team in doubles. For her career, she is a three-time All-CAA pick in singles, including two first team nods, and two doubles honors.
