RICHMOND, VA.- Joe Delossantos has been named the CAA Player of the Week as announced by the league this afternoon. Delossantos is the third Tribe player to earn CAA recognition as
Cole Ragone and
Rojo Prarie had both previously earned weekly honors.
Over the four-game week, Delossantos hit .400 (6-15) with a pair of doubles and two homers. The outfielder scored seven runs and drove in eight men to go with three walks and a stolen base.
In Tuesday's win at VCU, Delossantos had a career-high three hits, including an RBI double. The junior also stole a base and scored twice. Delossantos launched a two-run homer, doubled and scored twice in the series opener against Hofstra.
On Saturday Joe had a sac fly and knocked in a pair of runs while scoring once himself, and to cap the weekend off, the outfielder smashed a three-run homer to break open a one-run game in the Tribe's win.
In conference only games, Delossantos ranks second in the league with five homers, fifth in the league with 18 runs batted in, third in stolen bases, and seventh in runs scored. Overall, the North Carolina native is tied for the team lead with seven homers and nine multi-RBI games.
