The William & Mary men's track & field team opened action at the 145th IC4A Track & Field Championships on Saturday, picking up a bronze medal and a total of five top-10 finishes to stand tied for 19th overall in the 28 team field at the mid-way point of the championship. The Tribe is hosting the oldest championship meet in the country for the third time, following previous editions in 1975 and 1993, and holds the distinction of being the furthest-south the IC4A Championships has ever been held. Army West Point has a commanding lead with 10 events completed, piling up 60 points, while George Mason (34 pts), Northeastern (32), Stony Brook (27), and Albany (23) rounding out the top five.

Javelin Throw
W&M's top performance was once again turned in by sophomore
Chris Arias (Red Bank, N.J.), who threw the javelin 61.65m (202-3) for third overall and six team points. This is the first All-East honor for Arias, and the first for a Tribe javelin thrower since 2018.
800m Run
Competing in the finals of the 800m, junior
Stephen Larson (Charlotte, N.C.) finished 10th overall in 1:52.17, his best performance wearing the Green & Gold by nearly three-tenths of a second.
1,500m Run
Also earning a top-10 finish was junior
Jacob Jones (Weyers Cave, Va.), who ran a season-fast 3:47.93 for ninth overall. That improved his best time so far at W&M by 2.11 seconds.
3,000m Steeplechase
Later in the afternoon, redshirt-sophomore
Tyler Lipps (Virginia Beach, Va.) ran a massive personal-best of 9:20.06 to take ninth overall in the 3,000m steeplechase. That improved the mark he set last week at the CAA Championships by 10.36 seconds.
10,000m Run
The final event of the day saw redshirt-freshman
Patrick North (Spokane, Wash.) finish ninth overall at the 10,000m, running 31:30.89 in his first ever attempt at the distance.
The IC4A Championships will wrap up on Sunday at Zable Stadium and the Dan Stimson Throwing Events Area, with action in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dash, as well as the 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 4x400m relay, 4x800m relay, pole vault, high jump, triple jump, and the discus. Events begin at 10 a.m. in Zable Stadium with both the pole vault and the high jump kicking off at that time.
