The W&M Women’s Track & Field End Day One of New Captains Classic

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The William & Mary women's track & field team had a small crew in action to complete a successful day one at the New Captains Classic & Combined Events on Friday night.

With five events scored in the heptathlon, senior  Monay James currently stands in second place with 2,184 points, while senior Claire Bailey sits in third with 2,075 points. 
 
How It Happened:
  • Kicking it off in the hep.100-meter hurdles James finished in second at 18.65, while Bailey finished in third at 18.84.
  • In the hep. high jump James and Bailey tied for first with a mark of 1.47m.
  • James won in the hep. shot put with a mark of 11.23m and Bailey secured second with a throw of 10.57m.
The New Captains Classic & Combined Events continue Saturday, with events beginning at 11:00 a.m.
