Serena Jacobs Honored as CAA Women’s Lax Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – After posting a tremendous performance in the William & Mary lacrosse team's contest against Hofstra on Saturday, freshman standout Serena Jacobs was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week.

The honor marks the third time she has garnered the accolade, which is the most by any player in the league this season.

Additionally, Jacobs and teammates Sam Van Gieson and Ainsley Huizenga have combined to earn the distinction five times this spring, which is also the most by any team in the CAA this season.

Jacobs totaled a team-high four goals, on just six shots, with a pair of draw controls versus Hofstra.

The Vienna, Va., native currently ranks second on the team with 32 points (22g, 10a) and leads the Tribe in shooting percentage (.550).

W&M will return to action when it concludes its season at Towson on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
