SAINT HELENA ISLAND, S.C. – William & Mary men's golf improved on the second day of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship, firing a 294 on Monday on the Cotton Dike Course at the Dataw Island Club.
The Tribe's 6-over 294 was a 14-shot improvement over its opening round effort. Defending champion Charleston continues to lead the championship at 22-under after shooting a 555 on Monday. They sit nine shots ahead of second-place UNCW (564).
Junior
Trevor Binau once again led the Green and Gold shooting a 2-under 70. Binau got off to a fast start behind three-straight birdies to start his round. He added a fourth birdie on the back nine in carding his fourth round of par or lower this season. Binau sits in a share of 14th place entering the final round.
Graduate student
Ethan Mangum birdied a trio of holes on his way to an even-par 72. He played a clean second nine holes with a pair of birdies and seven pars to card a 2-under 34 on the back nine. Mangum holds a share of 24th with a two-round total of 149.
Senior
Matthew Feinstein and sophomore
Will Rieck each posted a 4-over 76 on Monday. Rieck parred 15 of his 18 holes and his 27 pars over the two days rank second in the tournament. Feinstein is in 37th place with a two-day total of 154, while Rieck is three shots behind in 40th place.
The Tribe tees it up in the final round beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
