WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - William & Mary baseball heads to Harrisonburg this weekend for three games at JMU. The series between the Tribe and the Dukes will begin Friday at 6:00 p.m. and continue Saturday and Sunday. Friday and Sunday's games will be available to stream on Flobaseball.tv
The two teams split six games last season with each winning two of three on their home turf. In three games at James Madison last season, the Tribe scored 23 runs with
Ben Williamson leading the way with six hits and five runs scored to go with a pair of homers and two doubles.
The Tribe will look to get back to fast starts and strong finishes that have pushed the team to success this season. Through the first three innings William & Mary is outsourcing teams 75-49 through the first three frames and 73-41 in the final three innings of the game.
Coach McRae has seen great production out of the bullpen and a couple of freshmen arms have been impressive of late.
Carter Lovasz has struck out 25 to just four walks in 34.0 innings pitched. Lovasz has allowed just one earned run and four hits over 13.0 innings pitched in his last three outings. Opponents are hitting just .158 off the righty and his 2.38 ERA is a team best.
Mike Weidinger has not allowed a run in his last five outings and has allowed just two earned over his last 14.1 innings pitched. Weidinger has given up just three hits in his last five outings and the opposition is hitting .200 against the lefty. Weidinger faced six men to get six outs Tuesday evening against Old Dominion.
William & Mary has been strong in all facets of the game through 12 CAA dates, ranking among the league's best in hitting and pitching. The Tribe leads the conference with a 3.44 ERA and a .215 batting average against. The team also leads the league with a .285 batting average and a .389 on base percentage.
