VILLANOVA, Pa. – William & Mary men's golf shot an opening-round 292 on Monday afternoon at the Wildcat Spring Invitational and sit in a share of fourth place.
Marquette leads the event after the opening 18 holes behind a 1-over par 281 and are four shot ahead of St. John's (285). Long Island is third, one shot ahead of the fourth-place Tribe who share the spot with both Delaware and Bucknell.
Freshman
Logan Hunter led the way for the Tribe and sits in a share of 10th place thanks to a 1-over par 71. Hunter tallied a team-high four birdies, which ranks seventh in the field.
Both senior
Matthew Feinstein and junior
Trevor Binau are among the top 25 after the opening round. Feinstein is in 15th place after a 2-over par 72, while Binau is 22nd and just a stroke behind his teammate. Binau tallied a trio of birdies in the opening round.
Sophomore
Will Rieck and redshirt freshman Jacob Newman rounded out the Tribe lineup, shooting 76 and 78, respectively. Rieck is in 49th place, while Newman holds a share of 66th.
The Tribe will be paired with Binghamton, Lafayette and Delaware for the final 18 holes at the Wildcat Spring Invitational, beginning at 9:40 a.m. off the first hole.
