SOUTHPORT, N.C. – William & Mary women's golf turned in its best round of the CAA Championship and senior Sarah Houle enjoyed one of the best championship performances in school history, earning a top-5 finish individually.
 
Houle shot a 1-over 73 on Sunday and moved up three spots to earn fourth place with a 7-over par 223. She became the 10th Tribe student-athlete to place in the top 5 at the CAA Championship and her three-day total was the second-best ever behind only Alessandra Liu's 4-over 220 in 2016.
 
Houle recorded a pair of birdies on the final day. She finished the tournament tied for the lead with 40 pars over the 54 holes and was third in par-4 scoring at 3-over.
 
As a team, the Tribe shot a 305 on the final day, improving four shots over its Saturday total. W&M's three-day total of 937 was its best at the CAA Championship since 2017 and put the Tribe in sixth place. Charleston shot a final round 292 to win its fourth-straight CAA title behind an 884 three-day total.
 
Freshman Emma Lu closed out the championship in strong fashion, posting an even-par 72. She tallied a trio of birdies on the day in posting the tournament's third-best Sunday score. Overall, Lu earned a share of 20th with a three-day total of 231. She led the Tribe with six birdies, posting three in each of her final two rounds. Lu also ranked third in the tournament field in par-3 scoring at 1-over for the championship.
 
Junior Mikah McDonnell notched her second-straight sub-80 round with a 7-over 79 on Sunday. She finished the event in 32nd place at 240.
 
Fellow junior Cindy Zhou posted her third-straight 81 to finish in 34th place overall at 243, while senior Stefanie Guizar Diaz rounded out the Tribe lineup in 38th place at 253.
