BOSTON, Mass. - The William & Mary women's track & field team concluded the ECAC Championships, Sunday afternoon. In shot put sophomore
Keeley Suzenski was ranked seventh coming in and won the first place title at 14.7m. Over in the 400-meter sophomore, Mary Gregory advanced from 14th place to second in her group setting a new school record time of 55.06. The Tribe finished ninth overall in the 39-field team with 30 points. UCONN won the title with 93 points.
How it happened:
- In pole vault freshman Sophie Fernandez and sophomore Olesya Sitkowski both earned a season-best placing ninth and 10th respectively. Sitkowski tied a season-best with 3.70m.
- In the one-mile freshman, Arianna DeBoer advanced from 29th to eighth overall at 4:56.26.
- Sophomore Grace Bir contributed points to the team after placing seventh overall in the 500-meter event at 1:15.21.
- The Tribe rounded off the day in the 4x400, where the team of Carly Swierbut, Grace Bir, Mary Gregory, and Makenzie Joiner came in second place with a combined time of 3:45.38, the second-fastest time in school history.
Next Up: With the regular season now concluded, William & Mary turns its attention to the outdoor campaign, which will begin at Richmond on Friday, March 18, with the Fred Hardy Invitational.
