RICHMOND, VA. - Tribe infielder
Cole Ragone has been named the CAA Player of the Week as announced by the league Monday afternoon. The senior infielder hit .389 over four games, belting three homers helping William & Mary to a win over Duke and a series victory over UNCW.
Ragone scored four times and knocked in five runs in the Tribe's 3-1 weekend. The Richmond native started the week off with a solo shot playing anchor on William & Mary's back to back to back homers in the second inning in a 14-3 win over Duke on Tuesday. Ragone also had an RBI single in the contest.
On Friday night, the Tribe trailed 5-0 in the fourth when Ragone's second solo shot of the weekend ignited a six run inning to give the Green and Gold a lead, and he would later tack on another RBI single for insurance in a 13-5 win.
On Sunday,, the Tribe faced a 7-1 deficit when Ragone would once again begin a game changing rally. Cole lifted his third homer of the week out of the park and sparked a six-run inning to tie the ballgame. The Tribe would later win the game on a
Jack Cone homer in the bottom of the ninth.
On the year, Ragone is batting .364 good for fifth best in the league. The senior leads the team with eight doubles, has four homers, and has knocked in 17 men. The infielder's .727 slugging percentage is second best in the league.
