RICHMOND, Va. – A trio of William & Mary field hockey players earned Colonial Athletic Association All-Conference year-end honors. Senior
Lauren Curran was named to the All-CAA First Team, while senior
Tabby Billingham and graduate student
Aidan Rossman were selected to the All-CAA Second Team.
In a dominant senior year with the Tribe, Curran made the All-CAA First Team for the first time. The Media, Pa. native was second in the CAA with 11 goals and fifth in the conference with 22 points. Curran also averaged 1.65 shots per game and posted a pair of two-goal games this fall. This fall, she racked up a team-leading three game-winning goals, including the lone tally at Hofstra on Oct. 16. That goal came in the middle of a three-game run that saw Curran score in each matchup.
Billingham earned a spot on the second team for the third-straight year. A perennial leader for the Green and Gold, she dished out three assists and scored W&M's final goal of the season at American on Oct. 29. Last month, Billingham was
named to the NFHCA Senior Game roster.
Curran and Billingham were two of four Tribe players to start every game this season.
Suiting up for her first season with W&M, Rossman immediately had an impact out of the forward position. She converted the winner in the Tribe's shootout victory over Monmouth to open CAA play on Sept. 30, a performance that came on the heels of a two-goal, two-assist game against Central Michigan. The law student and Beaverdam, Va. native also found the back of the cage against Towson and assisted on Curran's game-winner at Hofstra.
William & Mary wrapped up the '22 season with a 9-8 overall record and 3-3 showing in CAA play. The Tribe posted three victories over top-20 teams and spent six straight weeks in the national rankings. This year's No. 16 ranking was the highest for the program since 2004.
