WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The William & Mary Field Hockey team will continue its longest homestand since 2019 this weekend when it hosts Fairfield and Bellarmine at Busch Field.
The Tribe will resume CAA action when it takes Fairfield on Friday at 5 p.m. and the contest will be streamed on
FloCollege. W&M will close out the five-game homestand on Sunday when it battles Bellarmine for an 11 a.m. tilt. Sunday's contest will not be streamed.
TRIBE OUTLOOK
William & Mary (2-8, 1-1 CAA) returns to action after splitting their contests last weekend. The Tribe picked up a come-from-behind victory in its CAA home opener on Oct. 2 against Towson, 2-1.

Callia Uviedo recorded second half goals in the comeback effort.
On Sunday, the Tribe dropped a back-and-forth affair with in-state foe James Madison, 3-2, amidst a downpour. The contest featured three ties and three lead changes as W&M's
Hailey Haynes knotted the score early in the fourth quarter. The Dukes scored with 31 seconds remaining to claim the victory. In addition to Haynes' tally, Samantha Daly scored the game's first goal and Mae Gruendel and Uviedo recorded assists in Williamsburg.
UVIEDO TOP DAWG
Callia Uviedo was named CAA Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. Uviedo becomes the first Tribe field hockey player to garner the honor in five years since Pyper Friedman was named CAA Rookie of the Week on Oct. 5, 2021.
On Oct. 2, Uviedo scored the game-winning goal in the comeback victory against Towson at Busch Field. The rookie logged a season-high three shots and none more impactful than her back-handed strike at 43:17 mark that propelled the Tribe into the lead, which it never relinquished.
On Oct. 4, the midfielder dished out her second assist of the season, feeding Samantha Daly to take an early lead in a back-and-forth affair with the Dukes. Additionally, she added one shot in the 3-2 setback.
On the year, the freshman has scored one goal, ties for the team-high with two assists and has played in all 10 contests this season.
JOSIE LEADS THE TRIBE
Senior forward
Josie Mae Gruendel leads the team with eight points (three goals, two assists) on the year. The Matthews, N.C., native shined last week scoring a goal and dishing out an assist.
DE JESUS MAKES SAVES
Team captain and senior goalkeeper Alexandra De Jesus has started all 10 games in the cage for the Tribe this season. The Towson, Md., native ranks third in the CAA and 31
st in NCAA Division I logging 4.80 saves per game.
SERIES HISTORY
The Tribe and Stags will meet for the fourth time and the first time since 2017. W&M leads the all-time series, 2-1. Fairfield joined the CAA in field hockey this season.
W&M and Bellarmine will meet for the first time ever.
STAG WATCH
Fairfield comes into Friday's contest with a 6-5 overall record and a 2-1 mark in league play. The Stags offense has been humming scoring at least two goals in each of their last four games. Last weekend, Fairfield dominated with a 4-0 victory over Hofstra on Oct. 2 and a 6-0 rout of Lehigh on Sunday.
BELLARMINE SCOUT
Bellarmine enters Sunday's contest with a 2-8 overall record and are 2-2 in the MAC. Megan Clauser ranks 12
th in NCAA Division I averaging 7.4 saves per game. The goalkeeper made 12 stops in the Knights' last contest against then-No. 16 Louisville.
