Ethan Mangum earned his first top-10 finish as a member of the Tribe as William & Mary men's golf concluded play at the River Run Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon.
As a team, the Tribe moved up one spot in the team standings to finish in a tie for eighth in the 15-team field. W&M shot a final round 308 to finish at 909 for the tournament. Charlotte ran away from the field with a 15-under par 849. Marshall was second at 880 followed by Radford and Davidson in a share of third.
Mangum started the final round in a share of 15th place, but fired an even-par 72 to move into the top 10, finishing eighth. He shot a 1-over par 217 over the three rounds.
Sophomore
Will Rieck shot the second-best score for the Tribe on Tuesday, wrapping up the tournament with a 77. He finished in a share for 65th at 236.
Junior
Trevor Binau shot a 229 for the tournament and was the second-highest Tribe finisher in a share for 38th. Freshman
Logan Hunter (232) and junior
Jimmy Taylor (239) rounded out the Green and Gold lineup finishing in 56th and 70th positions, respectively.
The Tribe returns to action at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, Oct. 10-11. The event will be played at the Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md.
