WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's basketball's
Austin Washburn and
Miodrag Dronjak earned 2020-21 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The Honors Court recognizes men's collegiate basketball student-athletes in all NCAA divisions and the NAIA, who excelled in academics during the past season. The NABC Honors Court highlights the talents and gifts that these men possess on the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
- Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
- Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2020-21 academic year.
- Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
- Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I institution with a NABC member coach.
Washburn and Dronjak were among 274 Division I student-athletes to earn the honor from 102 programs. The duo was also two of the nine CAA athletes honored by the NABC. Both players received the honor for the first time in their careers.
Dronjak earned his degree from W&M in computer science with a minor in business analytics in May. Following graduation, he earned a highly sought-after position at Amazon. Washburn is majoring in business analytics and data science and received the team's Kraze Award following his junior season in 2021, which recognizes a player's ability to inspire his teammates.
