WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary head women's soccer coach
Julie Shackford '88 released the Tribe's 2021 fall schedule on Wednesday. The Tribe's 17-match slate features 10 home matches, including tilts with Big Ten foe Northwestern and Big East Champion Georgetown.
Along with five home matches in Colonial Athletic Association play, the Green and Gold will host local rivals Old Dominion and VCU this season.
W&M plays one exhibition match in 2021, hosting George Mason on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 6 p.m.
The Tribe starts the regular season with a pair of road contests. W&M heads to American for the first time since 1999 to take on the Eagles on Thursday, Aug. 19. The Green and Gold wraps up the road swing at ACC foe Virginia Tech on Sunday, Aug. 22.
William & Mary's first two home matches come on Thursday, Aug. 26, against Old Dominion and Sunday, Aug. 29, vs. Northwestern. The Tribe has dominated the series against the Monarchs thanks to a 23-3-1 mark, while the Wildcats travel to Williamsburg for the first time as the teams' inaugural meeting came in 2019 in Evanston, Ill.
After a road trip to Army (Sept. 3) to kick off the month of September, the Tribe returns Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field for a three-match homestand against a trio of regional foes. The Green and Gold welcomes a pair of former CAA rivals in VCU and East Carolina to Williamsburg on Sept. 9 and Sept. 12, respectively. W&M closes out the home stand against Georgetown, who finished last season ranked No. 10 nationally, on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. The Hoyas also advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
The Green and Gold plays its first two CAA matches on the road at Charleston (Sept. 26) and Towson (Oct. 3). W&M also travels to Hofstra (Oct. 17) and Delaware (Oct. 28) during the league portion of the schedule.
The Tribe will have five CAA home matches this season. W&M hosts UNCW to open the home league slate on Oct. 7, before also welcoming Drexel (Oct. 10), Elon (Oct. 21), James Madison (Oct. 24) and Northeastern (Oct. 31) to Williamsburg.
The 2021 CAA Championship is slated for Nov. 5-7.
