WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William & Mary men's tennis garnered regional rankings in the final 2020-21 standards released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

As a team, the Tribe was ranked No. 7 in the Atlantic Region, its highest regional ranking since 2014. Graduate student
Lev Kazakov was ranked No. 17 in the regional singles rankings, while graduate student
Brenden Volk and sophomore
George Davis were ranked No. 9 in the Atlantic Region doubles rankings.

W&M earned its highest end of the year national ranking since 2007 at No. 59. The Tribe won seven of its final nine matches, advanced to the CAA Championship match and ended the year at 9-6 overall. In total, the Tribe won three matches against teams in the final national top 70.
Kazakov, who joined the Tribe as a graduate transfer this season after a strong career at Cornell, earned All-CAA First Team honors in singles. He posted an 8-3 singles mark at the No. 2 position and won five of its final six matches, including a pair of memorable three-set wins on line two in the CAA Semifinals vs. Elon and Championship vs. UNCW.

Davis and Volk earned All-CAA First Team honors and finished the year, winning five of their final six matches, including victories in the CAA Semifinals and Championship at the top spot. The duo wrapped up the year, upsetting the No. 66-ranked UNCW pair of Bruno Caula and Daniel Groom in the title match at No. 1, 6-3. The duo tallied an 8-5 mark at the top doubles position.
