WILLIAMSBURG, VA.- Julia Brown, one of the most accomplished athletes in William & Mary volleyball history added another accolade as she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team as announced by the organization Thursday afternoon. It is the second straight year that Brown has garnered the award. 
 
The Geneva, Ill. native led the Tribe in kills (231), points per set (3.66), and total blocks (64.0). Brown had at least a double-digit kill total in 14 of the Tribe's 21 matches this season, and smashed a career-high tying 21 kills in two contests. 
 
A star in the classroom, Brown graduated last May with a 3.90 gpa and a degree in Biology, and is currently pursuing her MBA. She is a four-time Provost Award winner and was named a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award that recognizes athletes who make an impact on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. 
 
Brown produced a historic final season in the Green and Gold hitting for a .336 attacking percentage, the highest single-season mark for any player in the current scoring era. The middle blocker's 3.12 kills per set rank fifth under the current scoring format for a season-long pace. 
 
The 2021 Academic All‐District® Women's Volleyball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
First‐team Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second‐ and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced in mid‐December.
