WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis announced it's 2022 spring schedule on Wednesday. The 20-match slate includes 12 contests at home, eight against opponents from the state of Virginia, seven vs. Colonial Athletic Association competition and four battling Power 5 competition.
 
Three of the Tribe's four matches against Power 5 opponents will be played in Williamsburg. W&M opens the season against Big 12 foe West Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 5, as part of a doubleheader at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center, beginning at 11 a.m. The Tribe also welcomes in-state foe Norfolk State to MNTC at 2 p.m.
 
The Tribe will host Big Ten foe Maryland (Feb. 18 at 1 p.m.) and Big 12 foe Iowa State (March 6 at 11 a.m.), who finished the year ranked No. 34 nationally and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. W&M travels to No. 8 Duke, who advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals last season, on Feb. 20.  
 
The Green and Gold hosts a second doubleheader in the first two weeks of the season when Radford and George Mason travel to the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 12.
 
The Tribe's other instate match-ups includes home contests with Liberty (March 5), James Madison (April 15) and Richmond (April 22). Last season, the Dukes finished the year ranked No. 59 nationally and won the CAA title for the second-straight year. W&M also travels to No. 30 Old Dominion (April 3) and No. 69 VCU (March 27). Both teams won their conference titles last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
 
Historically, the Tribe has dominated the CAA, winning 26 of the 36 all-time women's tennis titles. The Tribe is 146-22 all-time against league competition. The Tribe will play seven matches against league competition in 2022. Along with JMU, W&M will host Drexel (March 22) and Elon (April 23). The Green and Gold will travel to UNCW (March 17) and Charleston (March 19) and play both Towson and Delaware at Towson on April 9. 
 
The Tribe's other two matches in 2022 come against Penn and East Carolina. W&M hosts the Quakers on Feb. 26 and travels to East Carolina on March 16.
 
Elon will host the 2022 CAA Championship at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center, April 28-May 1.
