WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary head women's tennis coach
Toni Bickford announced the addition of three transfers in
Lisa Fukutoku (Tokyo, Japan / Meguro Nihon University / Missouri),
Alisia Manolescu (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada / Cameron Heights Collegiate / New Mexico) and
Jill van den Dungen (Mierlo, Netherlands / Southwest Baptist (Mo.) to the Tribe program.
van den Dungen, a three-time Division II All-American, joins the program as a graduate transfer and will be enrolled in the business analytics master's program with the Raymond A. Mason School of Business. Fukutoku will be a junior in 2020-21 after spending the previous two seasons at the University of Missouri, and Manolescu will be a sophomore next season after playing her rookie campaign at New Mexico.
"We are very excited to welcome Jill, Lisa and Alisia to our program during this extraordinary time," Bickford said. "Their ITF junior success and college accomplishments are countless. But behind the records are three great student-athletes whose work ethic and beliefs fit extremely well with our team culture. They are capable of putting us in position to win championships and will have a positive impact within the William & Mary community as well."
Lisa Fukutoku
Junior
Tokyo, Japan / Meguro Nihon University / Missouri
- Played two seasons at Missouri and was a fixtured in an SEC lineup
- Won 21 singles matches and 14 doubles matches in her two seasons at Mizzou
- Earned a national ranking as high as No. 60 in 2018
- Nominated for Missouri's Freshman of the Year
- Selected to the SEC Academic Honor in 2019
- Won the first six matches of her career at Mizzou, including a nationally-ranked win
- Went 15-13 in singles, playing as high as No. 2 in the lineup in 2019
- Ranked as high as No. 348 in the ITF Junior World Rankings
- Racked up five ITF doubles titles on the junior circuit

Alisia Manolescu
Sophomore
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada / Cameron Heights Collegiate / New Mexico
- Won nine matches as a freshman at New Mexico
- Owned a 6-3 doubles record during the fall of 2019
- Played as high as No. 3 in the singles line-up for the Lobos
- Advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Mountain Regionals, going 4-1
- Held a combined career-high ITF Junior Ranking of No. 316
- Ranked as high as No. 788 in the ITF Women's Rankings
- Had UTR of 10.3 during her junior career
- Was a U18 Canadian National Singles Finalist in 2016
- Ranked Top 10 in Ontario in all age divisions.

- Three-time Oracle/ITA All-American at Southwest Baptist (Mo.)
- Named the 2020 ITA Midwest Region Senior Division II Player of the Year
- Selected as the 2019 ITA Central Region Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award
- Named the 2019 ITA Central Region Player to Watch
- Won the 2019 ITA Midwest Region Doubles Championship
- Was the 2018 ITA Central Region Singles Runner-up
- Tallied 45 career singles wins and 50 doubles victories at Southwest Baptist
- Ranked in the top 30 nationally in both singles and doubles all three seasons with the Bearcats
- Ranked as high as No. 3 nationally in singles (2019) and No. 3 in doubles (2018)
- Spent freshman season at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La.

I'm confident that Jill is ready to take upon the new challenge and leave her mark in Division I tennis."
