CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The William & Mary men's gymnastics team concluded the 2019 season at the NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on Saturday night, as a school-record three Tribe standouts competed in the individual event finals.
Jacopo Gliozzi highlighted W&M's performances with a top-20 showing on pommel horse, as he tied for 18th with a 13.333. The Fairfax, Va., native was looking to earn his second career NCAA All-America honor in the event, as he placed sixth at the national championship meet as a sophomore.
Collin Lillie nearly posted a top-20 effort on vault and tied for 21st with a 14.433. The impressive score nearly matched his career high (14.566), which he established during the qualifying round of the NCAA Championships on Friday.
David Watkins competed on rings and tied for 31st with a 13.566. One of the nation's top performers in the event throughout the season, he entered the championship meet ranked 13th with a National Qualifying Average (NQA) of 14.088.
In addition to its school-record three qualifiers in the event finals, W&M sent a school-record 11 individual qualifiers to the NCAA Championships for the third consecutive season.
