Scouting the Tribe
- Sunday's match is the second-straight for W&M against the Ivy League and the second of four against the conference in February. This season marks the fifth-straight season that W&M faces at least three Ivy League foes.
- In the latest national rankings released on Wednesday, senior Tristan Bautil and sophomore Finbar Talcott came in at No. 45 in the country in doubles. The Tribe tandem owns a win over the current No. 19-ranked Virginia Tech duo of Henrik Korsgaard and Alex Ribeiro at the Virginia Tech Invitational in January.
- The Tribe sits at 0-4 after suffering a narrow home-opening loss to Princeton, 5-2, on Feb. 2. Junior Brenden Volk and freshman Jack Kelly picked up singles wins for the Tribe. W&M dropped a close doubles point as the Tigers won by 6-4 score lines at No. 2 and No. 3. Princeton won in close fashion at No. 2 singles and in three sets at No. 4 to round out the team triumph.
- After the Tigers won the doubles point, Volk quickly pulled the Tribe even at one thanks to a straight-sets victory over Ryan Seggerman at the top singles post. It marked his first win at the No. 1 spot and his seventh overall on the year.
- Kelly took down Princeton's leader in wins in three sets at No. 5, topping Will Peters, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3. The Tribe rookie improved to 9-8 overall and evened his dual-match ledger at 1-1.
- The Tribe opened the 2019 dual-match season against three-straight Power Conference opponents. It marked the first time the Tribe played three in a row since 2013 and the first time W&M opened the season with three straight since 1993.
- Sophomores Sebastian Qurios and Finbar Talcott both posted nationally-ranked singles wins during the Tribe's opening three dual-matches of the season. Quiros knocked off No. 38-ranked Gianni Ross of Virginia in three-sets, 6-3, 0-6, 6-2. It was W&M's highest ranked dual-match singles win since 2010. Quiros leads W&M with a 12-7 singles mark.
- Talcott topped No. 104-ranked Brandon Lancaster of Louisville, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 2 on Sunday for his first career ranked win. He also jumped out to a set advantage over Florida's No. 37-ranked Andy Andrade, before the match was abandoned with the team result decided. He owns seven wins on the year and is 1-1 for W&M at No. 2.

- As a team, Brown is 14-1 in singles action in dual-match play.
