WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary men's tennis team squares off with its straight-straight Ivy League opponent as it welcomes Brown to Williamsburg on Sunday, Feb. 10. The match carries a noon start time from the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
Fans can watch all the Tribe tennis action at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center via PlaySight. Scouting the Tribe
- Sunday's match is the second-straight for W&M against the Ivy League and the second of four against the conference in February. This season marks the fifth-straight season that W&M faces at least three Ivy League foes.

Finbar Talcott came in at No. 45 in the country in doubles. The Tribe tandem owns a win over the current No. 19-ranked Virginia Tech duo of Henrik Korsgaard and Alex Ribeiro at the Virginia Tech Invitational in January.
- The Tribe sits at 0-4 after suffering a narrow home-opening loss to Princeton, 5-2, on Feb. 2. Junior

Jack Kelly picked up singles wins for the Tribe. W&M dropped a close doubles point as the Tigers won by 6-4 score lines at No. 2 and No. 3. Princeton won in close fashion at No. 2 singles and in three sets at No. 4 to round out the team triumph.
- After the Tigers won the doubles point, Volk quickly pulled the Tribe even at one thanks to a straight-sets victory over Ryan Seggerman at the top singles post. It marked his first win at the No. 1 spot and his seventh overall on the year.
- Kelly took down Princeton's leader in wins in three sets at No. 5, topping Will Peters, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3. The Tribe rookie improved to 9-8 overall and evened his dual-match ledger at 1-1.
- The Tribe opened the 2019 dual-match season against three-straight Power Conference opponents. It marked the first time the Tribe played three in a row since 2013 and the first time W&M opened the season with three straight since 1993.
- Sophomores Sebastian Qurios and
Finbar Talcott both posted nationally-ranked singles wins during the Tribe's opening three dual-matches of the season. Quiros knocked off No. 38-ranked Gianni Ross of Virginia in three-sets, 6-3, 0-6, 6-2. It was W&M's highest ranked dual-match singles win since 2010. Quiros leads W&M with a 12-7 singles mark.
- Talcott topped No. 104-ranked Brandon Lancaster of Louisville, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 2 on Sunday for his first career ranked win. He also jumped out to a set advantage over Florida's No. 37-ranked Andy Andrade, before the match was abandoned with the team result decided. He owns seven wins on the year and is 1-1 for W&M at No. 2.
Scouting Brown
- Brown opened the season with a trio of wins, all at home. The Bears downed St. John's, 4-0, blanked Binghamton, 7-0, on Jan. 20 and topped Bryant, 5-2, on Jan. 22. Brown travels to Blacksburg, Va., to face Virginia Tech on Friday before heading to Williamsburg on Sunday.
- As a team, Brown is 14-1 in singles action in dual-match play.
- Peter Litsky is 2-1 at No. 1 singles and overall is tied for the team lead with eight singles wins.
- Ching Lam, who won 22 singles matches last season, is 3-0 at No. 2 for the Bears and 7-4 overall.
- Last season, the Bears finished the year at 16-10 overall and 2-5 in Ivy League play. Brown capped the year ranked No. 7 in ITA Northeast Region.
Series History: W&M vs. Brown
- W&M leads the all-time series with Brown at 6-2.
- Sunday will be the Bears fourth visit to Williamsburg and first since a 5-2 Brown win in 2015.
- W&M won the first five meets between the teams, before the Bears won in 2015 and 2016, both in Providence, R.I.
- The Tribe won the last meeting, downing Brown, 4-3, in Williamsburg during the 2017 season.
