WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary baseball team starts the mid-week portion of its schedule with the first road game of the season at in-state rival Virginia on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 3 pm.

W&M News and Notes
• W&M and UVA will meet for the 76
th time in series history on Tuesday afternoon. The Cavaliers hold a 58-15-2 all-time series lead over the Tribe. The in-state rivals will also matchup for the 13
th consecutive season, meeting multiple times in a year on three occasions. The previous meeting was very theatrical as the Tribe forced extra innings (11) despite being held hitless in the 4-3 setback.
• The Tribe had its most explosive game of the season in a 12-3 win against Sacred Heart. Its 12 runs and 13 hits are both season highs after five games. W&M received a balance effort from its offense as four different players registered multiple hits. A pair of four-run innings put the game well out of reach. Furthermore, seven of the 13 knocks were extra the base hits.
• Senior
Hunter Smith is off to a phenomenal start to the season. The catcher ranks 37
th in the nation with an outstanding .500 batting average. His top effort occurred on Sunday after homering twice in a game for the first time in his career. Smith totaled a season-high four RBI against Sacred Heart. The Caldwell, N.J. native is also on a five-game hitting streak.
• Junior
Brandon Raquet has been one of the best in the nation at reaching base safely. He ranks seventh in the nation with a .667 on base percentage. And when he makes contact, Raquet hits the ball really hard, ranking 36
th in the nation with a .900 slugging percentage. Overall, the outfielder is hitting .400 (4-for-10) with two doubles, a home run and RBI.
• Senior
Bodie Sheehan continues his climb up the program's all-time start list. Following his recent start on Sunday, he now ties fifth with 46 career starts. He is nine starts away from becoming W&M's all-time leader. In addition, Sheehan ranks second in the CAA after totaling 12.2 inning of work over the past two weekends.
• Rookie
Phil Conti made a solid collegiate debut at second base on Sunday. The rookie tallied two hits and scored a run. Classmate
Matt Thomas also generated his first multi-hit game in the series finale with Sacred Heart. Thomas went 2-for-5 at the plate and scored twice. Thomas has also done a great job at reaching safely with a .333 on base percentage.
• The Tribe already has one player with a CAA weekly award. Freshman
Tristan Snyder earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors for the week Feb. 18. He held Marist to just three hits and struck out six in 4.2 shutout innings. The Bumpass, Va., native fanned five across the last three innings.
• Plumeri Park, the home of the Tribe Baseball, turns 20 this spring. The anniversary will be celebrated and recognized over the course of the season. The facility was constructed in large part due to the generous donation by Mr. Joseph J. Plumeri II in the autumn of 1996. It is now considered one the finest baseball facilities in the region, consistently receiving upgrades over the course of time. W&M has enjoyed a lot of success at Plumeri Park with a 382-197 (.660) since its completion.
