Box Score WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William & Mary women's basketball team made a strong effort to overcome an early deficit, but Delaware used a 10-0 third quarter run to secure a 70-59 triumph at Kaplan Arena on Friday evening.
A quick start by the Blue Hens (9-11, 4-4 CAA) forced the Tribe to claw back from a 12-point deficit in the first half. W&M (11-8, 4-4 CAA) sparked its comeback effort with 3:24 left in the opening period. Senior
Bianca Boggs scored five points in a 7-0 run to cut it to a 18-13 margin. Senior
Misha Jones kept it a five-point affair after draining a long 3-pointer at the horn.
The Tribe then sliced it to a one-point game twice in the second quarter. With 3:18 remaining, junior
Victoria Reynolds buried a triple for a 30-29 margin. However, the Blue Hens took a 35-30 lead into the locker room after outscoring the Tribe 5-1 in the final 3:02 of the frame.
Halfway through the third quarter, it was Reynolds with another basket to make it a one-point difference, 39-38, with 6:09 to go. However, the Blue Hens immediately responded with the 10-0 run that put the game away.

Individual Leaders
The Tribe had four players score in double-figures. Reynolds paced the Green and Gold with 14 points and also grabbed six rebounds. Redshirt sophomore
Harper Birdsong provided 12 points off the bench. Boggs produced a versatile effort via 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while freshman
Eva Hodgson added 11 more points.
For the Blue Hens, Abby Gonzales enjoyed the top performance behind a game-high 16 points. Lizzie Oleary also reach double-figures with 10 points to go along with seven rebounds. Samone DeFreese made a significant contribution of eight points, five rebounds, and five assists.
