WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William & Mary women's basketball team opens its 100th season as it travels to Army West Point for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Tipoff between the Tribe and the Black Knights is set for 7 p.m.

- W&M and Army have met three times previously, with the Tribe claiming all three contests. Tonight's match-up will be the first meeting in West Point, N.Y., and the first time the two schools square off since Jan. 2, 2001, which a 70-55 Tribe win at Kaplan Arena.

Ed Swanson is 3-3 on opening night in his Tribe career. The Tribe is 6-8 in its last 14 season openers, while Swanson has posted 13 opening night wins during his coaching career.

- W&M was selected to finish seventh in the CAA Preseason Poll by a vote of the league's head coaches. Last year's regular season champions James Madison was picked as the preseason favorite, while Drexel was picked second, and 2019 CAA Champions Towson was picked third.

Victoria Reynolds garnered a Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention citation the league announced during the league's digital media day. Reynolds has averaged double-figures the last two seasons. She appeared in 31 games with 27 starts last season scoring 338 points (10.9 ppg.), 164 rebounds (5.3 rpg), 71 assists, 21 blocks, and 40 steals. For her career, she has appeared in 89 games with 57 starts, 789 points (8.9), 654 rebounds (5.2 reb.), and 152 assists. Reynolds has been in double-figures in 39 career games, including 20 a season ago. Â

- W&M has won at least 15 games in each of the last five seasons, which is the longest such streak in school history. The Tribe posted back-to-back winning seasons in 2016-17 and 2017-18, which included tying a school record with 20 wins in the 16-17 campaign.

- Although W&M celebrated 100 years of woman on campus last year, the 2019-20 season marks the 100th year of Tribe women's basketball. The Tribe has fielded a team since 1919-20, but didn't play in 1942-43 because of World War II. The Green and Gold is 669-967-9 all-time.

Eva Hodgson became the fourth player in W&M history to be named the CAA's Rookie of the Year last season. Hodgson started all 31 games averaging 10.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assist per game. She was also named the CAA Rookie of the Week a school record four times.

- W&M will play a challenging non-conference slate before opening CAA play when the calendar flips to 2020. The Tribe will play three WNIT teams from last season, four former CAA rivals, and four teams from the Commonwealth of Virginia.

- The CAA announced the next four future sites for the CAA Championship and for the first time-ever W&M will host the event in 2024. The league also announced that James Madison will host the 2021 tournament, Towson will host and 2022 and Drexel will host in 2023. Â
