BOONE, N.C. – The William & Mary women's golf team successfully defended its Hound Ears Intercollegiate title as it took home team champion honors for the second straight season at the event. W&M carded a 303 (+15) in the final round to shoot a 612 (+36) and hold off the field by seven-strokes.
Individually, three Tribe players finished in the top-10 of the event led by sophomore
Sarah Houle. Houle fired a 76 (+4) in the final round to finish her tournament with a 148 (+4) and placed tied for third.
Senior
Allison Olberding placed sixth as she shot a 74 (+2), which was the low-score of the day for W&M, on the second day, and rounded out the tournament with a 152 (+8). Rookie
Cindy Zhou finished just a stroke behind Olberding with a 153 (+9), and placed tied for seventh.
Notes
It was the Tribe's 30th team tournament title all-time … It was the first since last year's Hound Ears Intercollegiate … Freshman
Mikah McDonnell improved her career-best for the second straight day as she shot a 77 (+5) in the final round … Her 159 (+15) is also her 36-hole career-best.
