- Under coach Swanson (last five years) W&M is 3-2 in its conference openers, but has won its last three CAA openers. Furthermore, this is the third year in a row the Tribe has opened CAA play on the road, and has now opened conference play on the road in four of the six seasons under Swanson.

Bianca Boggs became the third Tribe player to claim a CAA weekly award as she was named the CAA Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 31. Boggs notched her second double-double of the season with a season-high 26 points and 10 rebounds as well as adding three blocks, three assists, and two steals. Both freshman
Eva Hodgson (Dec. 3) and
Emma Krause (Dec. 24) have both been named CAA Rookie of the Week this season.
- W&M has finished non-conference play the last five seasons over .500, including setting the school record for non-conference wins with 10 in the 2016-17 season. The Tribe has also won nine games twice, and also have won seven and six games during the current stretch.
- W&M has posted a 18-3 record during December dating back to the 2015-16 season. The Tribe went a perfect 6-0 in December of 2016. Coincidentally two of the Tribe's three December losses have come on Dec. 21.
- One key to the Tribe's success this season has been getting off to good starts. The Green and Gold has outscored opponents 175-157 in the first quarter this season. Furthermore, W&M is a perfect 7-0 when leading at the break.
- Since starting to come off of the bench redshirt sophomore
Harper Birdsong has been a huge spark. She has been in double-figures in the last five games and is averaging 12.9 points per game in those six contests. The George Washington transfer is now the second-leading scorer on the team, averaging 11.0 points per game. Her 44.4-percent from 3-point range leads the CAA and ranks No. 39 in the country.
- W&M has been clamping down on the defensive end of the floor of late as it has held four opponents to 50 points, or less. The Tribe has also limited six of the last seven teams to fewer than 60 points. In Swanson's tenure the Tribe has posted a 20-2 record in games when its opponents have scored 50 points, or less. In this stretch, W&M has lowered its points against to 60.0, which ranks fourth in the CAA.
- Boggs was announced as one of 30 national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award. The Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. Boggs was the lone player from CAA women's basketball honored, and along with men's basketball player Paul Rowley, W&M was one of three DI schools with a candidate for the both the men's and women's Senior CLASS Award.
- Boggs has been in double-figures in nine of 11 games this season, and has accomplished that feat in 34 of her last 41 contests. Boggs was selected to the Preseason All-CAA First-Team after a breakout junior season. The senior captain leads the team with 16.1 points per night, and has added 6.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per night.
- Hodgson has started every game this season and the early returns on the rookie point guard have been good. The freshman has been in double-figures in four games, and is averaging 7.6 points per game, with 2.5 rebounds, and 3.4 helpers per contest. Hodgson scored a season-high 15 points versus Richmond, and has 1.3 assist to turnover ratio.
