BLACKSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary men's tennis team split the top six singles positions with Big Ten foe Penn State on the second day of the Virginia Tech Invitational. Sophomore Sebastian Quiros and freshman Jack Kelly won for the second-straight day in singles action, while rookie Daniel Pellerito gave the Tribe three of the top six spots against the Nittany Lions, who finished last season ranked No. 52 nationally.
 
Quiros won his seventh-straight match and ran his season ledger to a team-best 12-5. He topped Christian Lakoseljac in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, at the No. 2 post to improve to 2-0 at the Virginia Tech Invitational. Lakosljac finished last season as an All-Big Ten Second Team selection.
 
Like Quiros, Kelly ran his mark to 2-0 at the Virginia Tech Invitational with a win at No. 5.  He topped PSU senior Ben Lieb in straight-sets, 6-4, 6-2, to run his season ledger to 8-7.
 
Pellerito notched his eighth win of the year as well in straight-sets at No. 6. He topped Penn State sophomore Alp Sentay, 6-2, 7-5.
 
In doubles, the Nittany Lions won all four spots, but two came down to the wire. Freshman Oren Vasser and junior Brenden Volk went back and forth with the No. 1-ranked team in the country before falling to narrow fashion to Constant De La Bassetiere and Gabe Nemeth, 6-4, at the top spot. At No. 4, Zach Lieb and Jordan Nicherson outlasted Quiros and Kelly in a tiebreaker, 7-6.
 
W&M wraps up the Virginia Tech Invitational on Monday against the host Hokies at 2 p.m.
