Tyler Crist – W&M returns 11 starters (4 offense / 7 defense) from last season's team that posted a 2-9 record. The Tribe's Week 1 two deep features 24 underclassmen, while W&M's roster includes just six seniors.
Bucknell was picked to finish fifth in the Patriot League preseason poll and returns 15 starters (8 offense / 7 defense) from last season's team that earned a 5-6 mark overall and a 2-4 record in conference play. Offensive lineman Pat Finn and punter Alex Pechin garnered preseason all-league honors.
The matchup will feature two of the nation's top defenses from last season, as both teams ranked among the top 30 in total defense – Bucknell (11th), W&M (29th).
Saturday's game between W&M and Bucknell will mark the sixth meeting between the two programs, as the Tribe has won all five of the previous matchups. Prior to last season's 30-9 win against the Bison in Williamsburg, the teams last played in 1996 when W&M won, 47-0, in Lewisburg, Pa. The teams first met in 1986.
