W&M News and Notes
 • The Tribe is playing in its fifth-straight CAA Semifinal and ninth overall. Head coach Tony Shaver has led the Tribe to seven of its nine all-time CAA Semifinal appearances. The Green and Gold is 4-2 in its previous six semifinals under Shaver. The Tribe is the only CAA team to appear in the league semifinals each of the last five years and in seven of the last 11 seasons.

• Since 2008, the Tribe leads all league teams in CAA Tournament victories (13) and championship game appearances (4). In the 18 years prior to head coach Tony Shaver's arrival in Williamsburg, W&M totaled just two CAA Tournament wins. Over the last 15 under his direction, the Tribe owns 14 league tournament wins, including the program's first four CAA Championship Game appearances in 2008, 2010, 2014 and 2015.

• W&M is attempting to become the first No. 4 seed since VCU in 2011 to knock off the No. 1 seed and advance to the championship game. The Rams downed No. 1 seed George Mason. The No. 1 seed in the CAA Tournament is 13-4 all-time against the No. 4 seed.

• The Tribe connected on double-digit 3-pointers for the 17th time this season in the CAA Quarterfinals vs. Towson with 11. W&M is 14-3 in those contests. The Green and Gold connected on 327 3-pointers this season, which is a school record and the fourth most in CAA history. The Tribe is only nine away from third (UNCW in 2016-17),10 shy of second (Elon in 2017-18) and 12 away from the CAA record (VCU in 2010-11).

• The Tribe's 19 wins in 2017-18 rank 10th in school history. Head coach Tony Shaver has led the Green and Gold to five of the top-10 win totals in program lore, including four of the Tribe's nine 20-win seasons.

• For the fifth-straight season, W&M won double-digit CAA games. The Tribe became the sixth CAA program on the eighth occasion to produce five-straight seasons of 10 or more league wins. It marks the first time in school history that the Tribe accomplished the feat in five-straight years. W&M owns seven seasons with 10 or more CAA wins under head coach Tony Shaver after producing just one prior to his arrival in Williamsburg.

• The Tribe is the best shooting team in the country, as the only program to rank among the top 10 nationally at all three levels. W&M leads the country in 3-point percentage (43.5) and free throw shooting (81.2), while ranking second in field goal percentage (51.0). No team in NCAA history has shot 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent from the free throw line in the same season. W&M's free throw percentage would establish a new CAA record, and its 3-point percentage is the best in NCAA history for a team averaging 10.5 triples per game.

• The Green and Gold ranks fifth nationally, averaging 85.4 points per game. The scoring average would be program record and the highest in the CAA since 1996 (Mason at 90.6). It would rank third in CAA history. The Tribe set a school record with five 100-point games in 2017-18. W&M set a school record for total points (2,563) with its 80 in the quarterfinal win over Towson.

• For the third-straight year, the Tribe topped the 500-assist mark, totaling 532. The Green and Gold is only 11 away from the school record set in 2016-17 (543). The Tribe led the CAA in assists five of the last six years and is averaging 17.7 per game this season, which is seventh in the country.

• Senior Connor Burchfield is the top 3-point shooter in country both this season and over his career. He currently leads the nation at 52.4 percent from long range, while ranking 51st in 3-pointers made (2.9). Burchfield is the active NCAA Division I career leader at 50.9 percent from 3-point range. His 2017-18 3-point percentage and his career mark would be new CAA records.

• Junior Paul Rowley, who was named the CAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year across all sports on March 2, scored eight points in the Tribe's Quarterfinal win over Towson. Over his three CAA Tournament games, Rowley is averaging 9.3 points per game, while hitting 8-of-12 from 3-point range.

• Sophomore Nathan Knight, who was named to the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch list given annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player and an All-CAA Second Team pick, tallied a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double in the quarterfinal win over Towson. It was his ninth double-double of the season. The 12 rebounds marked the fourth most for a W&M player in the CAA Tournament.

• The catalyst for one of the nation's top offenses, senior guard David Cohn recorded his ninth 20-point game of the season in the CAA Quarterfinals vs. Towson with a game-high 24 points. Seven of those 20-point games came against league opponents. His seven assists against the Tigers tied the W&M CAA Tournament record. Cohn owns nearly every Tribe assist record and notched his 200th assist of the season in the quarterfinals.

• Sophomore Nathan Knight was 10-of-11 from the free throw line in the CAA Quarterfinals vs. Towson. The free throws made total and the percentage (90.9) rank second in W&M's CAA Tournament history. It also increased his season total to 146 made free throws, which ranks 10th in school history. His free throw total is the most since 1993 and the second-best total in the last 50 years of W&M basketball.
