W&M News and Notes
- W&M and Milligan meet for the second-straight season and third time overall. The Green and Gold shot 60.6 percent from the field and placed six players in double figures, including three 20-point scorers, in a 113-59 win last season.

- It marks the 11th year in a row that the Tribe has faced a non-Division I opponent. Over that stretch, W&M has won those games by an average margin of 37.5 points per game. The Tribe scored at an 89.9 points per game clip in those contests, including a 96.4 average over the last four seasons.

- The Tribe owns a 22-game home court non-conference winning streak, dating back to 2013. It is the second-longest streak in school history behind only the 31-game stretch from 1946 through 1952. The Tribe's home record over the last five seasons is 51-10 (.836). It is the seventh-longest active streak in the country.

- Already W&M's all-time leader in men's basketball victories, head coach Tony Shaver is just one win shy of 200 at the institution. He will become the 10th head coach in W&M history with 200 wins and the first since current head football coach Jimmye Laycock reached the milestone in 2009.

- The Tribe offense is among the best in the country, averaging 84 points per game. Along with ranking 37th nationally in scoring, W&M is third in 3-point percentage (46.2), seventh in free throw percentage (79.6) and 3-pointers made (11.4), 14th in field goal percentage (51.0) and 26th in assists (17.7). The Tribe leads the CAA in all six categories.

- The Green and Gold is the only team in the country to rank among the top 25 nationally in field goal, free throw and 3-point percentage. W&M is one of only three teams currently shooting 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range and 75 percent at the free throw line. The other two are Villanova and St. Mary's (Calif.).

- Sophomore Nathan Knight has been the Tribe's top offensive threat, ranking third in the CAA and 68th nationally at 19.4 points per game. He has produced two 30-point, 10-rebound double-doubles in 2017-18. Knight has scored in double figures in all nine games this season. He also ranks 19th nationally at 2.8 blocks per game and 35th in free throws made (55).

- The Tribe scored 100 points in three of the last six games, including the second-best total in program history (114) vs. Marshall and the most in a road game (108) at Savannah State. The three 100-point games are a school record tied with last season and the 1954-55 season.

- In back-to-back weeks, seniors Connor Burchfield (Dec. 4) and David Cohn (No. 27) took home CAA Player of the Week honors. Burchfield averaging 28.5 points per game in Tribe wins over Marshall and Savannah State, including a W&M and CAA record 10 3-pointers on his way to a career-high 30 points vs. the Thundering Herd. Cohn turned in a career-high 25 points to go with nine assists in the win over Old Dominion to earn the distinction.

- W&M is one of only two teams, along with 2017 national runner-up Gonzaga, to rank among the top 30 nationally in field goal percentage each of the last six years. After ranking 10th in the country in 2016-17, the Tribe is currently 14th in the country at 51 percent from the floor.

- According to the website KenPom.com, W&M ranked among the top 25 nationally in effective field goal percentage each of the last six seasons, including 2017-18. W&M is currently ninth at 59.5 percent and finished as high as No. 6 in both 2013-14 and 2014-15.

- Over the last six games, senior Connor Burchfield (27-of-43) and sophomore Matt Milon (19-of-33) have combined to shoot 60.5 percent (46-of-76) from 3 and hitting nearly eight triples per game (7.7). On the year, Burchfield leads the CAA in 3-point percentage (54.4) and 3-pointers made (3.4), coming in third and 23rd nationally. Milon is second in the league and 12th nationally in 3-point percentage (54.0).

- Over the last six games, senior David Cohn has averaged 8.8 assists per game, including a career-high 13 against Marshall. His 6.9 assists per game rank 12th nationally.
