• The William & Mary women's basketball team looks to get back into the win column following its first loss of the season as its closes a two-game road swing at East Carolina on Tuesday night. It is the first of three meetings for the Tribe against former CAA rivals.
• The Green and Gold was selected to finish third in the preseason poll by a vote of league's 10 head coaches. W&M was only selected finish behind only James Madison and defending league champion Elon.
• After losing its top two scorers from last season, W&M has put, at least, three players in double-figures in all three games this season. Senior

Abby Rendle (twice) and sophomore
Victoria Reynolds have also scored in double-figures, in at least one game, this season.
• Despite the setback at St. John's, W&M performed really well and had some numbers that usually guarantee a win under coach Swanson. It was the first time in his in W&M tenure that the Tribe scored more than 70 points and lost. W&M also attempted more free throws than the Red Storm and won the rebounding battle other keys to Tribe victories.
• Junior
Bianca Boggs has had a strong start to the season. She has been the team's leading scorer in two of the three contests, including setting a career high with 26 points and 11 rebounds against Howard. The Waldorf, Md. native has also added three blocks and 10 steals.
• Sophomore
Victoria Reynolds has made the most of her first three career starts this season. She is tied for second on the team averaging 12.0 points, and 7.7 rebounds per contest. Reynolds set a career-high with 19 points in the season opening win at Howard, while she also leads the team with 12 steals.
• For the past four seasons, W&M has led the league in steals each year. So far this season, the Tribe is doing much of the same. Through three games, W&M has had 34 thefts, which is first in the CAA at 11.3 steals per game.
• Not only is senior
Abby Rendle, who was a Preseason All-CAA Second-Team selection is closing in on the school record for blocks, but she is also nearing the league's block mark as well. The senior, who has 23 career blocks, needs 20 to pass Tiffany Benson for W&M's record, while she needs 38 to surpass WNBA All-Star Elena Delle Donne for the league's mark.
• The Tribe has won the rebounding battle in each of its last two games this season. The last 20 times the Tribe has won or tied the battle of the boards it has posted a 16-4 record.
• Head coach
Ed Swanson announced that senior
Jenna Green and junior
Misha Jones will be his team captains for the 2017-18 season. Green has played the most active games (92), while Jones returns to the fold after missing all of last season with an injury.
• All four freshmen –
Bailey Eichner,
Nyla Pollard,
Gabby Rogers, and
Libby Underwood – made their collegiate debuts and scored their first career points against Howard. Pollard earned her first career start with six points, while Rogers added nine points and four boards off of the bench.
