- Delaware is under the direction of first-year head coach Martin Ingelsby, who spent the pervious 13 seasons as an assistant coach at Notre Dame. The Blue Hens are 8-13 overall and 1-7 in CAA play on the year.
- UD opened the season going 7-6 in the non-conference schedule, including a win at home over Iona to close out the slate. The Blue Hens have lost seven of their last eight games. They snapped a six-game losing streak with a 69-62 win at home over Northeastern on Jan. 19. Most recent, UD suffered a 75-58 loss at home to Towson on Thursday.
- Delaware ranks fourth in the CAA in scoring defense allowing team to only score 69 points per game. The Blue Hens are third in the league in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.333) and fifth in field goal percentage defense (.431).
- Offensively, UD is the lowest scoring team in the CAA at 63.6 points per game and have averaged fewer in league play at 61.2. Delaware plays at a slower place ranking among the 40 slowest in the country at 65.4 possessions per 40 minutes. The Blue Hens shoot 40.7 percent from the floor and 30.8 percent from 3.
- Freshman Ryan Daly has been the Blue Hens top player and one of the top freshmen in the CAA, earning the league's rookie of the week honor on four occasions. He is averaging 14.9 points per game, which is eighth in the CAA, and has increased his production to 19.3 in league action. Suits And Sneakers® Week
- The Coaches vs. Cancer Suits And Sneakers Week, January 23-29, 2017, is a nationwide event that unites coaches across the country to raise awareness about the American Cancer Society's lifesaving mission, and promote the American Cancer Society as a place for help and support. While coaching games during the week, coaches across the country, including the Tribe coaching staff, will wear sneakers with their game attire as a visible reminder about the importance of nutrition and physical activity in reducing cancer risk.
- Along with their shoes, the Tribe staff will #laceupforlacy, wearing the special gold Princess Lacey's Laces. As Michigan State University's number one fan, eight-year old cancer patient Lacey Holsworth and her special relationship with star player Adreian Payne dominated the media for a significant portion of the 2013-2014 NCAA basketball season. Although she shortly thereafter passed away, she gives hope and inspiration to millions of others affected by cancer. As a special promotion beginning Suits And Sneakers Week, and continuing through the end of the college basketball season, fans will have the opportunity to wear a specially designed pair of sneaker laces from Shoe Carnival, available online or in stores, in memory of Lacey. Funds raised will support the American Cancer Society and Princess Lacey's Legacy, to continue save lives and support those affected by pediatric cancer.
