- Recent Tribe graduate Sean Sheldon had a change in plans for his professional career. After initially signing in Romania, the 6-9 forward is instead headed to BC Winterthur in Switzerland's top league, Ligue Nationale A (LNA). He enjoyed the best season of his Tribe career as a senior, starting all 31 games and averaging career highs of 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. BC Winterthur won the third league in Switzerland in 2013, before finishing third in LNB to earn promotion to the top league in 2015. In its first year in the LNA, BC Winterthur finished 10th last season. Sheldon joins Zeb Cope '04 and Adam Payton '07 as former Tribe players to compete professionally in Switzerland.

- Former Tribe All-American Marcus Thornton, a 2015 graduate, recently inked a deal in the Italian Serie A with Consultinvest VL Pesaro. Thornton, who played for the Sydney Kings in Australia and the Maine Red Claws in the NBA Development League, spent his second-straight summer with the Boston Celtics in the NBA Summer League. A second round pick of the Celtics in 2015, he averaged almost 13 points in Australia, before scoring at a near 14-point per game clip in the NBA D-League, including a season-high 22 points in the playoffs against Canton. VL Pesaro is a three-time Serie A champion, winning the title in 1988, 1990 and 1992. More recently, they were EuroChallenge Semifinalists in 2010 and finished 12th in Serie A last season at 12-18.

- Adam Hess '04 is set for his ninth professional season in Germany and 13th overall in Europe in 2016-17. He will play his second-straight year, and third total, with the Hagen Phoenix. Hess averaged 7.7 points and three rebounds per game in 17.5 minutes per contest in 2015-16, while shooting 42 percent from 3-point range. Hagen avoided relegation and remained in the German Bundesliga.

- Former Tribe standout Laimis Kisielius, a 2008 graduate, signed with the top team in Belarus, BC Tsmoki-Minsk, for the 2016-17 season. It will be his 10th season in Europe, and he moves to Belarus after five campaigns in his native Lithuania. BC Tsmoki-Minsk has won eight-straight championships in Belarus and will play in the FIBA Europe Cup for the second-straight year. Last season with Vytautas, Kisielius earned Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LKL Honorable Mention. In the Baltic League, he averaged 15.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
