Box Score WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Junior
Charles Ameer went 3-for-3 with two homers as the William & Mary baseball team took the series with a 16-2 throttling of Georgetown on Sunday afternoon on Sunday afternoon at Plumeri Park. With the decision, the Tribe improves to 14-12, while Georgetown fall to 13-16.

Cullen Large also joined Ameer with three hits. The 16 runs were the most recorded by the Tribe this season, while all but one starter had a base hit.
Junior
Daniel Powers also picked up his team-best fourth win of the season. He went seven innings allowing two runs (one earned), while scattering nine hits. Senior
Mitchell Aker pitched the final two innings allowing just a hit with a strikeout.
Georgetown took advantage of an unearned run in the top of the first inning. Austin Shirley led off the inning with a walk moving to second on an error and then to third on a fly out. With two outs, Joseph Bialkowski singled through the right side giving the Hoyas a 1-0 lead.
W&M's offense came alive and plated four runs in the bottom the third inning, taking the lead. Freshman
Kyle Wrighte started the rally with a walk. After an out, Ameer walked. Junior
Ryder Miconi followed with a single through the right side that started the scoring. Sophomore
Ryan Hall followed with a base hit, before Gould sent a sacrifice fly to right field for the next two runs. The final run of the inning came on Large's 17th two-out RBI of the season, making the score 4-1.
The Tribe added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Ryan Hall started the frame with walk, moving to second on a wild pitch. Gould followed by reaching on an infield single, but an errant throw to first allowed for
Ryan Hall to score. Large then belted his fourth homer of the season over the right field wall. After an out, junior
Tim Hoehn reached on an error, before coming around to score on a single from Wrighte, which made the score 8-1.
Ameer extended the Tribe's lead by a run with a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth inning. The junior crushed a ball over the straightaway centerfield fence wall, making the score 9-1.
The Hoyas got a run back in the top of the seventh inning. With two outs, three consecutive singles from Beau Hall, Eric Webber, and Dante Ricciardi accounted for the run.
W&M put the finishing touches on the victory with seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. The highlight of the frame was Ameer's second homer of the game off of the scoreboard.
The Green and Gold hits the road for a pair of mid-week games this week starting on Tuesday, April 5 at Virginia Tech starting at 5:30 p.m. The Tribe then heads to Old Dominion on Wednesday, April 6 for a 6 p.m. game.
